Key West Travel Guide - An Oasis of Freedom Man, I gotta tell ya, your videos of the Florida Keys and this one made my wife and I want to go down there so bad, WERE GOING! Your videos have helped us decide we want to go drive from central Pennsylvania to Key West! We have many friends to visit along the way! So we are going to take 10-14 days to head down and chill out the whole way! Thanks so much for all the super interesting places to visit and the restaurants to have lunch and dinner! We are so excited! We love all the advice you give and the savings you provide in places to stay and eat! Watching the rest of your vids! Say hi to Bella for us! Blessings, Bryan and Carolina

Went to Key West last March instead of our usual Hawaii because of the crazy Democrats and their Hawaiian self destructive lockdown. Key West was beautiful but they were as ridiculous as any idiotic Liberal city. The police were enforcing the ridiculous masks outside which only a simpleton would buy into that lunacy. They were aggressive and rude everywhere. Key West was interesting, the fishing was great and the food was good but I would never ever go back. It’s obviously a liberal swamp in the middle of a moderately conservative state.

Fine job on the videos. Never been to the Keys. Now that you have given us the un-edited reality of what there is to see, I will pass. This seems like going to Walmart in the middle of Disney land. I do not mean to offend you. You did a fine job, its just that Key West seems to be the grossest display of overpriced commercialism with no real connection to reality or authenticity. Herded like sheep to watch the sunset with a $15 dollar well drink and selfies going on all around you. Depressing. Anyway, keep the vids coming, cheers.

Your title, oasis of freedom, resonates with me deeply. When my husband asked me why I wanted to leave California for Florida, the first thing that came into my mind was. freedom. These past two years have just heightened my resolve to not submit to absurd ritual enslavements. The other reasons were. warm water, Pittsburgh childhood friends retiring to Florida, closer to my sister, room to explore by car, Latin music among others. Bizarrely, I love heat and humidity and land that is flat pleases me somehow!

Thank so much for the tour/tips! I’ve been to Key West several times and didn’t realize there was a bunch of items I’ve missed. What beach, besides Smather’s, has smooth sands I didn’t care for Smather’s beach because the sea grass stunk so bad of sulfur. And I’ve also been to that rocky beach you mentioned and cut up my feet and ankles (even with swim shoes. Much appreciated for any info on smooth sand beaches, I’ve heard there is one on Key West, I just don’t know the name. Thanks!

Another fantastic tour! My sons and I sailed the Marquesa to the reef to do some snorkeling. Amazing! Stayed at the Angelina Guesthouse, and while I don't think it was pet friendly, did have a resident cat named Finn that roamed as freely about the place as the little curly tailed lizards. We viewed most of our subsets at Truman Square where the Coast Guard cutter museum ship is docked. Loved Key West and can't wait to go back!

Why are all the gas stations in the city limits of Key West up to $4. 25 a gallon but the key haven't shown right outside the city limits is at $3. 69 Y is Key West one of the few places in Florida that had mass mandates and shut down their working establishments because our mayor is a huge lefty and Key West under her rule is nowhere near as free as it was when it wasn't under her rule I've been in my whole life I can testify

It's been a long while since I last visited when I retired from the Navy: they had two bases there then. I really appreciate your take on reasonable lodging options since I'm not the Ritz Carlton type; the place has gotten expensive! The Turtle Kralls restaurant has been there for many years. The moped is plain smart if you can keep from getting hit; a car is a liability with the crowds.

WoW! The most comprehensive survey of Key West I have seen. I was stationed in Key West for training with the U. S. Navy in the 1971-1973 time frame (closed sonar school 1974) (Yes, I remember Crazy Ophelia's little espresso cafe and Jimmy Buffet was in the neighborhood bars. Commercially, Key West seems to have grown so much since then!

Your videos are awesome and include a lot of detail and information. You work really hard & it is clearly evident! Don’t be shy about asking for support by purchasing items that you endorse, support or use yourself. Also don’t forget to be shy about asking people to smash your like button Like I did!

My Mother, Robin Ford, vanished from key West in 2016 under suspicious circumstances, still have found no answers what happened to her if she was kidnapped or I don't know, its so sad and hard not knowing, And it's such a hard thing to see such a beautiful place ruined with sad memories and heartache.

You can forget about getting ANY hotel/motel room for $70 as this video shows. Stays are ridiculously high and out of reach to most people. Think more in the $500 and up range per night. Key West has charm but the traffic and costs and shoulder to shoulder tourists negates the experience.
reply

Plenty people takle the tourist narration of the Florida Keys
Yours is one of my top 3
Very well done, chosen, produced, etc.
Quick question, any chance you can list the Songs/Artists you’ve used
Thanks and keep at it.
My next vid will be the Plant City one

Best Key West video I've seen. I am seeing places I need to go visit and I have lived here for 3 years. Curious to know, as I see you haven't used much high up drone footage, is it true that drone flying isn't allowed due to the proximity to the KW airport

Key west is overrated.
Hotels are anywhere between $400 to $1000 a night.
Limited parking, ocean is not clean as in Miami area, prices are higher then San Diego, CA.
Absolutely not gonna be going to key west again.

This was an awesome video to help us for our upcoming trip! Will be watching your Fort Lauderdale video and others about that area, as that's where we will spend the first few days of our trip! Thanks again!

Buddy I have to thank you! Your guide on Key West has been tremendously helpful. I have a huge list of things I want to do and I think I even have to extend my hotel stay there for one more night haha.

I was just there back in May. Pro Tip. Don't watch the sunset from Mallory square. walk to the end of the square and head up the stairs at the pier house. You get a great view without the crowd.

I used to live in Key West. Every time I go back I bump into Kenny Chesney, and always get to hear him play some of the local bars, which is cool. He's a genuine, and very sweet guy.

another great video, but I would never recommend mopeds because I have seen so many accidents with tourists getting hit by cars. It’s really bad. They don’t even let the military drive them.

This is a great tour! I love the host and especially love that he takes his dog! As a South Florida girl, now living in the mountains, this brought back alot of great memories!

We stayed at the Hampton Inn and were nicely surprised by its beautiful location, pool and Tiki Bar and a free shuttle to the brewery which is a short walk to Duval St
