Florida Keys: Overseas Hywy & 7 Mile Bridge Aerial Fun Times; Fond Memories (Great Video); am from OH and it is exactly at the 2 min. 37 sec. mark where I was fishing from the abandoned bridge about 5 years ago (200 yards onto the old bridge. A gentlemen caught a pinfish and let me have it for bait. I put in on my spinning outfit that I use for bass and catfish up north. It had a good sized hook with a piano wire leader. Within about 1/2 hr, I hooked-into something that I knew was LARGE. It took nearly 45 min. to tire it enough to bring up-to the bridge. I had walked back to the Land while playing the fish. I could not get down to the waters edge to bring the fish to land, so I walked it like a puppy-dog back to show the fisherman what his bait had yielded. It was a 4 1/2 ft. long SHARK (I had caught Dusky and Bull Sharks before using a Shark Rig from the pier (Sharkeys) in Venice, FL, but this is the only one I have caught on a medium weight spinning outfit. My guess is that it was a Sand Shark weighing about 100 lbs. Knowing that I could not land the fish to extract the hook (nor did I want to try, I tightened the line (hand-over-hand) until something snapped. It was the leader right near where it attached to the hook. The piano wire was still attached (looking like a tightly wound coiled spring: ) to my line. I kept the coiled wire on my wall at home as a keepsake of the adventure. Again, FUN TIMES & FOND MEMORIES! I hope to have a Repeat Performance this Summer; Time will Tell.

One afternoon II was going to SF from Oakland, to a Photo show. My God It was windy, really windy. I paid the Toll and took off towards San Francisco. Suddenly After Treasure Island, I noticed that the bridge was bouncing and the cars in front of me were JUMPING fron lane to lane. My car was doing the same So I looked back on my rear view mirror And NOBODY was behind me, they had closed the damned bridge, because of the wind Wind gusts of 80 m/h and more and I Thought I was going to die. I turned my radio off, because they were interviewing someone about this situation.

Beautiful video. In 1997, my husband, oldest daughter, and I drove from Dayton, Ohio to visit my mama in my hometown of Hollywood, FL. My husband had never seen the ocean, and, on Christmas Day, we drove to Key West and stopped and played in the ocean even though it was in the high 60s. Your video reminded of that day. Thank you for sharing.

15 to 20 yrs and it will be underwater because of climate change denier republicians. And who would want to live in the direct path of yearly hurricanes Hurricanes that will be greatly intensified because of climate change. I'd rather live on the moon.

I remember as a teenager driving on the old bridges! It was scary when the big trucks were coming in the opposite direction! Not much room to spare. Lol Always a beautiful drive!

2 weeks ago I was there and it was one of the best experiences in my life. The adrenaline crossing the 7 miles bridge is indescribable. Very nice footage, thanks for share.

I'm putting together some Key West footage of mine and the only thing I'm missing is some incredible drone shots! (which you have) Any chance I could use a couple small clips

This is great footage! Would I be able to use a couple clips in a personal video I'm making about a road trip from key west to Miami I will give you credit

The dog looked happy the drone landed safely. :) Great video! I went down this bridge in 1992 but I was really young and don't hardly remember it.
