Siesta Key - Nokomis - Venice FL- South Sarasota County What an excellent episode! Thank you for putting all this together. So much information! I had to watch twice and I will view it again. I loved seeing Myakka River State Park. Sorry you couldnt climb the suspended walkway, but Im glad it wasnt totally destroyed and can be fixed. Turtle Beach is by far my favorite, too, but lets tell people its terrible there, OK It can be our secret. I cant wait to see the gulf again. It is nice that you are putting yourself and Bella in the videos more. It makes it feel like Im there, too. I appreciate all the work you put in to share your travels and what you learn along the way, and as a new dog owner, the info about pet-friendly places (more than I thought thered be) has been great. Peace & Prayers.

In 1940 to 1950 i lived on the corner of Stickney Pt Rd. And South Tamiami Trail in a Trailor Park, there was nothing else around. When i got to around 6 or 7 me and my friend would walk down to the beach on siesta key, nobody around, we were the only ones on the beach. Not like today i feel so sad to see the crowd of people there today. I am now 83yo. I remember point of rocks, where are the rocks My farther would take me down to the bait shop at midnight pass to fish. Midnight pass rd. was just crushed coral. The bait shop was the only building on the key at the time i think. Everything was sand dunes. In 1950 we moved to Mass. I missed Fla. I retired and moved to St. Pete where i live today. SKY

Great content showcasing the Florida landscapes, they have an idyllic aquatic lifestyle, the continuous beaches,
the lakes, rivers, waterways, there is no wonder they also have a Venice just like LA - California, and you would
not believe it, that even Venezuela is named after Venice, for all the canal systems the Spanish Explorers found
when they got there in the 1500's. If the Florida needs another place-name for it's scenic surrounds. I imagine
another variation of Venice, the original name of Venice, which was Ravenna

Have lived in Sarasota for many years, Florida for 50 years, and it has many fine qualities of life. You should also know if you are thinking of settling here housing is very expensive, snowbird season makes it heavily congested to the point where if you live on the middle of a barrier island it can take 45 minutes to get on or off the island. Summer months are very hot. There is also unchecked new construction countywide, adding to the congestion. There are tradeoffs to living anywhere, so be aware before you commit.

Just curious but how current is this footage - is this post hurricane Ian It looks like a pretty great place to stay. Thanks, nicely presented
Wow I see that it IS current - that’s great! I know some of the East coast because my entire immediate family (except for me - I was away at college) moved to Port Charlotte back in 73 but in less than a year they re-located to Boca. So most of my experience is either the East coast or Key West and the keys but the West Coast looks great.
Nice video!

The best thing about growing up on Siesta Key during the entire 60s and half the 70s is leaving. My brother still there who remembers when Siesta Drive was a dirt road thru the village. I remember Dino the dinosaur sinclair gas station and pink sidewalks funded by John Ringling the circus magnate. Yay. and hippies were cool. smoked a lot of dope with us kids. did a year at out of door school and met all the rich local kids. it was a blast!

Excellent stuff, Randy! Fell in love with the Venice area when I flight instructed out of VNC in the late 80s. What's not to love, other than traffic during season that is.
The return of Swimming In Sunshine. sweet! Liked the comment about the price of that estate on Casey Key Rd. in eggs. haha! Hey wait. that's not funny! 10 out of 10 on this video. beautiful!
Best to you and give my regards to Venessa. :-)

Man you gotten some amazing shots of Sarasota. Born and raised here. Always something to do. Those banana boat rides are such a good time. Just hanging out on the beach and seeing it going back and forth, you are able to call aqua adventures and pay through phone and just run out to it and jump on. Sunset boat rides are always beautiful as well. Cheers

Born and raised in south Sarasota. back when 41 was two lanes and there was no I75. We left for five years for GA. and are back. never appreciated how beautiful it was here until we came back. And if you hit up Venice beach. the dog beach is devine(and we drive half an hour south to get there) but be sure to stop by sharkys for lunch and a drink

Thank you for your amazing videos. My family and I love them! We relocated to SW Florida in the past year and have learned so much more about the area through your videos. We always knew that SW Florida was where we wanted to end up and your videos have reinforced the notion that we made the correct decision! THANK YOU!

Great coverage. Moving that way in a few months, but probably 1/2 the house I could have had 3 years ago. Prices are crazy high there. I believe Sarasota County, last year had the highest home appreciation in the whole US. So nice, that a big house isn't as important as a smile with a boat or 3.

Sunset fans will love Siesta Key and will also know to stick around while the sun colors the sky. Once in a great while, you will actually view a green sunset. That is the stuff that memories are made of.

Too bad your autocratic, freedom killing governor has ruined your reputation. Decent people who love democracy are boycotting Florida like the plague.

Great production. Only thing that sucks is that now everybody's going to know how cool it is. Best kept secret in Florida bro. Keep it quiet
