Helen GA & Blue Ridge Mountains - A Bavarian Appalachian Getaway Hello Randy,
I liked your video, I have already visited the state of Georgia, but just the city Atlanta, I spent just one day and one night in Atlanta on the way to Miami.
otherwise, the village Helen, its architecture strongly resembles a certain region in France in Alsace, borders with Germany, moreover before the 2nd world war Alsace was German.
Helen reminds me of a Danish village, I visited it last year, the village is called Solvang, founded in 1911 by the Danes.
the village has remained until now with Danish architecture.
solvang means in Danish (sunny field.
you must once visit it.
You miss Europe, in any case, you are welcome to come to my place, I will show you some magnificent places.
I live 2 hours drive from Holland, Holland is a very beautiful country (Amsterdam.

In 1971, I rode a Honda CB350 motorcycle from Adel, Ga to Mammoth Cave National Park, Ky on none but back roads. I stopped at Brasstown Bald and to save money I decided to walk up the trail from the parking area to the overlook; sometimes saving money isn't the best decision. I stayed two nights in Vogel State Park, camping in a small tent, before proceeding toward Blairsville, Ga. I remember that trip above all the others I took on that bike because I ran into a hail storm just outside Blairsville. Trust me, nickel size hail on a motorcycle with no windshield is a painful experience.

This video is fantastic! What a way to show a beautiful themed town in the middle of the mountains. We went up there for the first time a few years back and hope to make it up there again. We were there during Octoberfest and it was just one party after another. The music, the food and especially the people were so friendly. I’m so happy this video popped up and can’t wait to go back.

Nice video. I spent my honeymoon in Northern Georgia. This brings back good memories. My husband really likes Paul’s Steak house. We are hoping to return in 2024. There are many cabins that can be rented in this area and they are very dog friendly. The wineries and the trails are great. One more tipSpring is beautiful in the North Georgia Mountains.

Thank you so much for this video. My wife and I are celebrating our 2nd Wedding Anniversary next month and we are going here! I really love the amount of history and culture you show in your videos. I also am very excited to check out the places you visited. We also watched your Chattanooga video too! :)

I loved beautiful Georgia. What a beautiful state. Everything was fantastic and I think Baily loved it all too. So many great people and your perfect presentation. My mother was originally from Germany, so I am familiar with the food and love it too. Thank you Randy.

Hey Randy, nice video! I go to Helen every year for river tubing, and it's awesome! Also, just south of Helen is Gwinnett County Georgia where it has another large lake called lake Lanier, and the largest mall in Georgia, the mall of Georgia.

Man it looks like I just missed you on this trip. Living in Blueridge mountains, I've been here a handful of times - but you've shown a lot I haven't seen yet. Well organized, thoughtful presentation. Thank you for sharing, subscribing!

Once again, WHAT AN EDUCATION! I knew absolutely Nothing about these areas of Georgia! I never even associated the state with the Blue Ridge Mountains! I can't thank you enough for all you have enlightened me about. Happy Holidays!

As a resident now of GA, we've been to Helen multiple times. You MUST check out Helen during Christmas-so beautiful. And Blue Ridge will take your breath away! Fun off roading! Thanks for a great video!

I was in Helen years ago working. Only one day and my job was much the same as it is today: I was a route sales rep for a snack company, so I didn't get to see a whole lot of the town. Very charming.

Like the Greenville video, I love how you highlight other areas around the town. This is another place on my list and I'm hoping to knock Georgia and South Carolina off my list of states

Hey, forgive me for asking, but did you change dogs I mean it’s been a while since I’ve watched your videos, but it doesn’t look like the same dog if it is forgive me, I was just curious.

Awesome video. The best little secret in Georgia that you might need to make a video of is Dahlonega, Georgia and head down to the Grand Canyon of Georgia and make a video!

I'm 72 and grew up in N. GA. I remember when Helen was just a speck on the map. My Dad and I trout fished in Helen when I was a kid. Now it is a vibrant City.

Oh man now I definitely want to go there. Beautiful and lots of things to see and do. Bailey is quite at home. Didn't even bark at any of the animals.

The helendorf hotel is just awesome my wife and I stayed there when our son and his new wife and son lived in Cleveland Ga and both attended Trueet McConnell

Thanks for the wonderful travelogue! We moved from CA to FL and never heard of this gorgeous area. Just added it to our list for 2024!

Love Helen and go up there 2 or 3 times a year, about an hour and a half drive northeast from here in Woodstock, Ga. Going again in January.

Went there right after Christmas- cool place but so crowded. Pick a time when there are not 100, 000 people crammed into the town.

Thank you so much for the video! Never ever i thought this town existed. but now i'm considering to add it to my buckest list!

Wow, just wow! I have been wanting to visit Helen for the past 5 years. I am definitely making my way there this year!

Another fine video. We spent a week this spring in Helen and the surrounding area chasing waterfalls and views.

When in Sautee, stop by the 'Mark of the Potter'. It's a retail store and studio for local potters in an old mill.

So sorry for your loss of Bella, I had a mini white poodle named Sandy she lived to be 18, still miss her!

And the 'Gourd Museum', another local favorite. You will not believe the things that can be done with a gourd.
