I found the video misleading. When he gets to the part where you need to fix some path anchor points he swiftly goes onto another part of the video, without showing how much additional work this fixing creates. Fixing the selection, then fixing the path takes longer than just getting the path done instead of trying this technique. Just learn a few keyboard shortcuts to make your path making easier and rest is just a little practice.

Ehhh. need to have decent enough contrast to use the quick selection tool to begin with. Try this with a high key product shot on a white sweep. As much as I hate the tediousness of the pen tool, there is no other substitute to dig out the subject as well as the pen.

Japanese illustration software (SAI, CSP) will always kick PS, Procreate and even FOSS (Krita, GIMP) just because they have an useful tool called selection pen which permits you to select things without ridiculous masking tricks or painfully slow polygons.

How do you deselect the blue points? You had all blue points but you didn't show us how you deselected them leaving only one blue point, so you can drag the white point only?

Wasn't it possible for Photoshop to just replace the selection to PATH so that we didn't have to adjust the Tolerance!
