How to Truly Remove Noise from Shadows Using HDR in Lightroom

we will use multiple exposures and HDR to create an image with much more information in the shadows and highlights, giving us a much cleaner image without noise wrzlbrnth: very interesting. The way I do this is to take multiple exposures at EXACTLY THE SAME SETTINGS. Then i put these pictures in a stack and use median or average filter on the stack. Since the noise is mathematically a random process, this will remove the noise as the noise will be different from picture to picture; . That works really better and takes out more noise than the HDR approach. thanks for the video

I experienced that when I click to open any jpg file, it always opens in image ready windows automatically. with very small size of file image. But when I give it a command to save as in any folder; it saves, but the file size get changed. Similarly when I click to open any JPEG file, it always opens in Photoshop without changing the file size. This, I am unable to understand.

This is awesome for architecture, still life, and nature. but what about when it comes to things like event photography where a flash might not be allowed so it comes out dark, even with higher ISO causing more noise then desired? Do you have a trick there bc getting multiple exposures it virtually impossible when you're doing mostly candid type shots

Hello Unmesh Dinda
Hope you are well. You are really a great tutor in Photoshop. Having finished your tutorial there is no question in my mind. I have a question for you, you know that Photoshop & Illustrator are two brother. Do you have any plan to make illustrator video?
I will wait for your response. Bless you.

And the same technique can be done in Photoshop by going through the Bridge menus - Bridge -> Tools -> Photoshop -> Merge to HDR Pro. and that's all there is to it! Of course, I'm using the stand-alone version of Photoshop not the monthly subscription form - that's CS6 NOT the pay by month CC version.

I have a problem. At the end of an edit, my groups are in order. now it's time to use the brush tool and apply my signature. It usually doesn't show up. A layer mask sounds right but. a little help please. Enjoying your work man.

Even those images are captured in different stops of exposure, sometimes I see that after merging, there is a large amount of noise. The HDR seems to have worked well but still, there is noise. :O

Another extremely useful vlog. Now I know what to do with all the photos I have take with under/overexposures for the last 2 years. I am going back to them and going to slap them with HDR! Thanks!

I also learned years ago the noise never repeats the same way twice, so you could also take multiple photos and merge them (average) to lose noise in a dark image. But this does seem easier.

you dont even need to do two exposures. with one setting at a very high iso capture several images without changing the frame. then align them and stack them and it will o noise reduction.

Hey Unmesh, great videos, just wondering if you have encountered Banding in your photos? I seem to get it a lot with darker photos, is there anyway I can remove it?
Thanks!

Do you have any techniques on removing noise other than taking HDR photos from the start? It's quite problematic if i were to shot models 2/3 times per shot just to do HDR
reply

Hi, you are really doing a very nice job. A lay man like me can get a lot of help through your videos. Can you explain the difference between jpg and jpeg?
reply

I would like to take your help. please tell me how to show business cards ready effect in PS like many tutorials show in the start and in the end.

Great vid, but can I ask why when I use either hdr or pano my processed image doesnt appear in the grid view next to my original images
Cheers

This is nice if you have the ability to expose for the shadows. Most noisy photos come when you dont have the ability to shoot any brighter
