I don't understand why they didn't use more ray tracing effect in this game when there's a card out called the 3090 it has the vram and frame rate to handle it with dlss on they need to make games to make use of the card other wise why make graphic cards that don't make use with the vram and power. I play killing floor 2 on my 3080 at 3440x1440p and it feels so laggey on my mouse sluggish sensitivity yet doom eternal you can get ray tracing in 4k and get buttery smooth frame rate at 100 with fast sensitivity on the mouse

8: 10 OMG Thanks for that! I was dissapointed with Ray tracing it add too small to the FPS cost dropping form 144fps to 24fps sometimes with RTX2070 Super, and it was just a texture pool size, even if the video menu doesn't show that with Ray tracing you are out of memory. I would not even think about texture pool size because doom eternal doesn't have great textures in my opinion.
With balanced DLSS I've lost not mutch FPS. THANKS AGAIN you saved the day for me!

I have a even better solution for the ultra nightmare texture problem: don't buy a GPU with 8GB of Vram in 2021, especially for over $400.
It was the same for Watchdog Legion and Cyberpunk in his first iteration (wich admitedly was a disaster.
That's not an unfortunate event, this is a clear pattern.

These results do not match my performance of the lowest around the 185 fps and regularly in the 200+ fps with 1440p ultrawide and insane maxed setting with ray tracing and dlss at quality. I have a 3900X - rtx 3080 from MSI the OC varient and 32GB 3600MHz DDR4 and a gen4 M. 2 SSD!

I'm assuming this was a proof of concept for ID because it seemed like a lot of dev time for not a lot of gain IMO. This could have easily waited for the next title, especially in the stained working situations most tech workers are still in.

That extra depth is underrated and a prime example of what you get from RT. Doom always look good, the only weak part was the highly game ready soft Textures but its intentional. Great reason to play again with DLSS and Crank RT

I can't find the option to turn DLSS on or Raytracing. I have a 2070 and have Doom Eternal on game pass. I can't for the life of me find the option to turn them on. My Nvidia drivers are all up to date

Good video. The pool size setting is just a bug though if you change it to ultra then change it back to ultra nightmare its fine. Read about this on reddit and works like that on my 3070 ti

This isn't right my 3080 with updated drivers doesn't close to those results with DLSS turned on. Literally runs at 30fps don't no why but as soon as I turn it off it runs smoothly

Imagine having a high end 4K capable gpu and being unable to play 1440p maxed out because Jensen Huang decided you're only worthy of 8GBvram. It's good to know your place I suppose
