The price of that i9 includes 479. 79- in taxes. Specter and meltdown require a hacker to get enough access to access to data in memory. If they can get that kind of access they already have your data. So it only affects people who encrypt their data and are worth enough for the hacker to take the risk since it could take a long time to get any data worth anything.

My company sold a lot of Ryzen 3 2200G with cheap A320 boards, one stick of 8GB RAM and an 240GB SSD - for schools. This combination costs peanuts and works as fast or faster than Intel combination for a lot more money.
Last week we couldn't get a 9800X anywhere in the country, and Ryzens/Threadrippers we can get immediately, and for less. Ryzen FTW!

hibernation is windows problem cross the board intel and AMD, we in team Red found the fixt in the late 90s and it is simple just set never to Sleep and Hibernate. = no more wake up problem
