Without wireless charging, which I could care less about normally, the uscbport is going to be overstressed and overused by charging and listening to wired headphones with a heavy usbc dongle, and that is a concern.
And may be a source of failure down the road if not built very to be very strong as it is doing double duty.
I hope the Xperia 2 brings back the headphone jack and makes it better with perhaps digital out and a separate 2. 5mm balanced jack and a dac and amp and mics and software that rivals all the manual audio control we have when filming video with the LG V series phones.
Audio is huge to video, and options just like with lens are needed, the usbc port should not be the only port to handle latency free audio and charging forcing a heavy dongle whenever you are serious about audio or keeping it charged up.
Other than those concerns an awesome phone that needs contributions from the Audio division at Sony to make it class leading.
Remember walman, cd, sacd, bluray audio, and etc are sony's innovations, so they should be class leading in audio as well as video, and their headphones are used to master audio in studios from their $2000 models to their $99 MDR 7520.

I used to have an A7iii what an amazing camera it was plus the eye AF work really well. I'm glad Sony are back in the game with a decent phone definitely am considering moving back.
Maki-San knows what he's doing that is one area Sony wasn't getting right the camera even though they make the best image sensors. They have won the award for best camera phone at MWC.

I believe if they get this product on major carriers in the USA with an incentive ( rebates, add-ons, etc) and a compelling price, a bit cheaper than its competitors they are going to do great.
I still -don't- believe they going to surpass Apple, Samsung, and Huawei phones due to these company's integration with Software and hardware perks, and Sony stubborn ways.

Unfortunately society nowadays doesn't care about professional high quality camera hardware and software all they want is Animojis, cheesy stickers, useless AR and Instagram filters. These new Sony phones look promising but we in live in a somewhat childish society where dog face Snapchat filters are more popular. Sad nonetheless.

Hey Kimio Maki alpha!
Did you also served us with fuc--ng RAW or big boy sony said NO again?
Allowing RAW would help your corporate buddies bringing life to their dying phone division, keep so much loyal customers as well as getting the old ones back.

My biggest problem with Sony phones is they show them off bit are never available right away. It's always like 6 months later. In that time Samsung, LG and other have already released 2 new phones that can do the same and cost less

Well Mr. Maki is already off to a great start because I've been saying for years that some of Sony's mirrorless camera tech should come to phones. Hopefully some of that UI carries over to manual mode as well.

I haven't been impressed by Sony's cameras in the past, but if they really are going to bring features from their Alpha line down to the Xperia line - this could change things.

Sony Executives: - Why are we being outdone by OUR camera sensors we sell to everyone, and we don't even use them to their full potential? -
Kimio Maki: -Hold my beer-
