RTX 2060 would have been a good card. if it had 8 Gb GDDR6. It will get chocked when using very high details on textures, or maybe in certain games even with high detail ones. Of course they did this to keep it away from the 2070. which is a lot more expensive.
But meh. why I even bother to talk about the 2060, its not like I will ever pay money to buy a card that doesnt have both. 7nm shrink and the new GDDR6. thats real next gen, anything else is dust in the eyes. and marketing scam at this point. Sure nVidia will bring their samsung 7nm stuff in like. 2020, well then in present nvidia is rather irrelevant to me, ray tracing or no ray tracing, its still faking light and reflections at a basic level (well ok, now upgraded to mediocre level.
I do hope Navi 7nm will be decent in both price and performance and also use cheaper GDDR6 instead of HBM2. that is unless for some reason HBM2 prices drop to be similar to GDDR6.

You buy cheap monitors, you get cheap performance. Samsung just made a UUW 2k100hz Freesync 2 monitor, ASUS has a 4k120hz Freesync 2 monitor incoming. I myself have Samsungs 32- 2k QDOT Freesync 2 monitor, and havent had any isses. 72 to 144 range, LFC i can guess because I don't get tearing below 72. They're pricey, but they I doubt the two new ones will be priced high because they wanna milk, they'll be better than those other Freesync 2 monitors out there.
The good thing about freesync is that there is a very wide range of monitors they can choose from, but again, you buy cheap you get cheap results. Then there are monitors that weren't Freesync 2 qualified. Those should certainly be avoided. But theres that choice of cheap so-so monitor if you want it that has some kind of level of the feature.

amd will release a 16 core consumer cpu because they can. gordon said amd would not release an 8 core 16 thread cpu for less than a thousand cause they didn't have too. he also said, that amd would not drop a 16 core 32 thread threadripper for less that 1600. he said they won't release 16 core consumer cause they don't have too. sure they don't have too. but they will because intel cannot compete and will win a huge mind share. intel offer 8 core for the price amd offers 16? seriously, why would they? they would the hearts and minds of most people.

GTX 980 - $549 (2014)
GTX 1060 - $250 (2016)
22 months gap
Same performance
-55% cost
GTX 1080 - $599 (2016)
RTX 2060 - $350 (2019)
32 months gap
-10% performance
-42% cost
So we waited longer than ever before for a x60 card & we are paying higher than ever for less performance improvement than we got last generation.
Rtx 2060 launch: its great value, its same performance as 1070Ti, go buy it
Gtx 1070ti launch: what is this card, why did nvidia launch this, overpriced, dont buy this.

Alaina is completely biased team red (AMD) which makes listening to her difficult. It's easy to see that Brad seems pretty neutral and while Gordon does seem to lean towards Intel and Nvidia but I think that's because they do currently offer the -fastest- products. BTW, I actually like Jensen and have had email conversations with him since the mid 1990's; he always replied to me and apparently he will reply to mostly anyone.

says buy 2060 over vega, vega 64 stock beats it, over clock beats over clocked 2060. has 8 gb hbm 2 ram (which can be run at 16 gb virtual ram. i mean, in the U. S. electricity is cheap. i have a vega 64, costs me like 6 bucks a month and that is if the vega is at full power for hours every day. which it isn't. so. i spend about 3 bucks a month in reality, which is $36 a year, for better performance than a 2060

AMD releasing a mainstream card (navi) wouldnt really do anything to mindshare, Nvidia will just drop prices and people are still gonna buy nvidia cards. AMD has been releasing GPUs that has better price performance FOR YEARS and nvidia still wins market share. AMD needs to release something powerful than 2080ti/Titan, people needs to think they have a better flagship and better cards overall.

they have literally tons of 1060s that's why they couldn't cut the price of the 2060. the 1060s that are still on stock won't sell if they did that. and they will never let their profit margin to go down at all, ever. they'll probably cut the 2060 prices down by like 50 bucks in lless than a year.
and freesync on a nvidia card sucks ass.

AMDs site doesn't mention anything about limiting the Radeon VII production to 5000 units and say -Several leading add-in-board partners plan to offer the cards-. Where did the rumor come from that AMD was going to produce only 5000 cards and that it would be available only from AMD with no add-in-board partner cards?
