every user that disables their updates also never updates and leaves lots of holes and exploits open. i love theses people so ez to hack. dont turn off your updates lol up dates dont slow you down that much. and if they are you can set up your computer to do the updates while you sleep. lots of these steps leave your computer open with exploits. windows power setting on balance is always set to max so that step did nothing. only time its different is when installed on a laptop it will default to 100% while plug in and 50% unplug from power. just about everything he mentions slows down things and makes it harder.

you mentioned that defragging SSD is bad, but didn't show how to disable defrag for a drive!
click start, type -defrag' and click -Defragmentation and Optimize Drives-. Click the -Change Settings- button. A dialog appears. Uncheck -Run on a schedule (recommended)- and click -Ok-. This disables automatic defragging of all of your drives. Just be sure you run defrag on you HDD devices, or manually schedule defrag for those drives only (via the built in windows task scheduler - which i'll leave to the reader to learn).

My 4 gig i3 somewhat outdated laptop bought about 2015 was running super lag clicking on the start menu, and other folders...
All I did was follow your privacy settings... I think the big one was disabling the background apps.
Something I was trying to find over a week now.
Lag is gone. My little lap top now acts like my 32 gig i5 desktop with it's own video card as far as being able to do common browsing start menu and internet etc.
Thanks!

Excellent steps -- I rebuilt mine from factory setting, got everything up to date, which took awhile & half, and then I followed your steps exactly and wow it feels like those steps cut 80% of the cost out of my system. The debloater & index removal seemed to have the biggest impact but really the whole package of changes is what leads in the end to a much more responsive system. Thanks!

what happened to the original script from sycnex. a few years ago I could still see the script myself and also adjust it to my own liking. what it now looks like is that scrips are accessed from an external location. what I saw in a hurry. without being able to see what's happening or decide whether I want it to happen and I also need internet on all computers.???

I remember hating customers buying dell or hpe due to bloatware...now its all bundled into windows also.... clean install/minimal should be a default option.
Great video.
