How to Duplicate or Copy a Folder in Google Drive! - TechJunkie Despite Google Drive's popularity, there are a few features that have always been missing from the service, and one notable one is the ability to either copy or duplicate folders. While you can easily copy files within folders, actual folders themselves cannot be duplicated in Drive. Thankfully, we have a great workaround

It's crazy for Google not to have the option to copy a folder and or multiple folders / structure into another Drive quickly without having to manually add and name the same folders into the new drive you are building. Most basic of copy and paste options missing. It also would be nice if you didn't have to upload everything to an email but rather have the ability to copy and past a document directly into an email like Microsoft Outlook allows you to do. In addition, having those documents show as an attacment at the top. Too many times people miss the attachments at the bottom. Granted, it's email viewing laziness on their part.

omg thats crazy... yesterday i literally spent 3 hours struggling with drive about this and other -problems- that no other app has... it really amaze me how unfriendly and restricted the functionality is in google drive.

This is absolutely in no way how to copy folders. This is making duplicates and moving and nothing more. We are all trying to actually copy folders/folder structures and duplicate to save time.

Does making a copy of the original file make me the owner of the copied file? And if the owner of the original file deletes the original file, can I still watch the copied file?

I have no idea why Google made this process so difficult to figure out. Why not allow for the drag and drop or ctrl+C/V for easy copying and pasting?
