Kevin, Thank you. I have an issue that I have not been able to fix. -- Im trying to have a countifs - My issue id it is a count if with 2 conditions - names (events) in row b8:t8 (river, dad, craig, Repeats....) then in the the data side (names of volunteers) b10:t25 (ray, john, mike, Britni, Joan, David, Vince, jannie ......... ) Im trying to count how many times (volunteer) -Ray- as been to event -DAD- I keep getting different errors ... =COUNTIFS(B8:T8,-DAD-,B10:T25,-ray-)... im at a loss .. been trying for 2 weeks. used if, and, count, pivot table, hlookup .... I would be happy to send this to you.... Im using the most current Excel

Hi Kevin, thanks for your very helpful video. Can you tell me if there is a COUNTIF formula that can count cells that contain the character -&- ? I have a row of data that contain names for individuals and also names for couples. In the names for couples, we use & between the two names, i.e. Flintstone Fred & Wilma. Can I use the COUNTIF or another formula to count the number of couples where the cell contains the & sign? Thanks in advance for your assistance, Mitchell O'Brien, Ireland

Kevin I am trying to get excel to count certain things inside of cell x2. Ex. A normal cell might say 200, but I have some cells that are 200/200. Now I know it will not count this cell because it doesn-t match the exactly and that-s what I want. What I am looking for excel to do is count 200/200 x 2 so it shows it counted (2) 200-s. I will have another row in my counting table that says 200/200. Can you tell if this is possible or if what I am asking makes sense to you. Thank you.

hello, I have a column which is full of yes and no s. I am looking for a way to count the no s after one yes up to the next one. as an example : yes-no-no-no-yes-no-no-no-no-no-yes,... How I count the no s and write them near Yes like that : Number of no s after 1st yes = 3 , Number of no s after 2nd yes = 5. It would be great if you could me about that issue :)

I discovered that the COUNTIF function doesn't count a cells number if that cell is generated via an underlying formula instead of just the number typed directly into the cell. Is there a way to get the COUNTIF function to count those numbers generated via a function?

Is there a formula to count each time a word is in a cell all at once without typing each color. Example on your first demonstration. I want to know how many times Red was in the cell and all the other colors. Having them each broke up into individual cells.

Excellent video. What if I wanted to know how many of each color I have not just red and yellow. And what if I don-t know my range number because the items are so much. For example you only have 15 items but my report the nunbers are more than I can count.

Very good video. It would be great to include -extra- tips by mentioning you can select the whole range by using shortcut keys. If the range extends two or more screens click and drag would be a drag (pun intended). Excellent video though. Thans.

Countif group is exist in excel? (Marvel and DC) Wat i min i will count super heroes, but i will type marvel and all marvel super heroes will count. Hope you understand im not good in english. Tnx

I have a question. If you have a list and there is a list of names and you want to go through and use the =countif to see how many times a name appears in a list of 5,000 how would I do that?
