No point using more than 120 FPS on 60 Hz monitors for casual gaming (it's ok to use more than your display can handle as it can make the game feel more responsive - highly game dependent).
On more Hz monitors, the numbers may be different. But NEVER you should set framerate unlimited, as it puts your card under unnecessary pressure.
I may seem little harsh, I'm certain he genuinely wanted to help people optimalize Minecraft settings, totally respected. But we really need to start to care about framerates. Or maybe I'm rare species, who actually cares about stuff not breaking and eating power pointlessly?

it dosen't change anything for me in 1.18.1 .... I even think it is sometimes worse in terms of fps consistency.... Maybe the reg edit stuff must be different because of the new Microsoft Store MC Launcher?
I wanted this to work for the complementary Shader. Without I have my 60 FPS (set to 60 as limit) but with Shader on I habe olny 27-32 FPS and nothing changes after the adjustments of the Tutorial....

This is so helpful. I have a pretty good pc i9 9900k with 32G 3000 hz ddr4 ram and nvidia rtx 3090 FE and I have been having a lot of FPS problems on every game I play with call of duty being the worst so I went to try Minecraft and I was getting 80 FPS on all fast settings. This video fixed my problems and helped my pc just run more smooth and consistent

i have OP setting for minecraft
first turn every setting to off or fast.....thene the important setting turn fullscreen to off not onn to get btw 350-500 fps more
i play minecraft 5 years whith this setting and i get 500-1000 fps whith optifine setting

this game is ridiculously bad in optimisation. I'm getting 30 fps on 40 chunk render distance with no mods on a 3060 ti and with shaders the game is just unplayable.
