Years ago (somewhere between 2008 and 2010) I used Antix on a revived antique PC, I don't remember the version but it wasn't looking anywhere near as polished as the version in this video. Looks aside, though... it was blazing fast and really made that antique hardware work like it was new, at least for the time that the hardware still managed to remain running (got a few weeks of life out of that ancient machine, which I considered a win).

I wanna try this just to test out the WMs. I am wondering how much lighter a WM is than Xfce on an PC from 2012.
MX looks so much heavier than AntiX - though the antiX dev's politics makes me wonder if he has spyware hidden in his code. I suppose the Far Right is as prone to spy as the Far Left...but, there are no Far Right types in tech...

I've got a surface 3, Intel Atom with 2Gb RAM.
Currently running Lubuntu 20.04 with LXQt. It runs ok, but there's a few quirks.
How do you think this would run on that? Also is there touch support? I can't seem to find any information on their wiki (don't laugh I'm an idiot)

DT, love your stuff. antiX is great for a USB stick. It has remarkable tools to remaster the USB stick so upgrades to the live system get pushed back into the non-persistence file system. This brilliantly gives you with the ability to recover more persistence room. it is magical.

Can you install it in a frugal install on a FAT partition? Then i would consider switching my Retrocomputers to it where i currently use Puppy Linux and some Retro Windows. If so that propably would be the ideal Linux distro for Retro computers for me.

can someone tell me how to install debian on my laptop? I complete the installation, but then after reboot I get black screen. I tried several different versions and none of them works. I was able to install linux mint, but not debian.

I've installed Mepis and MX (which originated as a fusion of Mepis & AntiX), but never AntiX. I've got a really old laptop (my tertiary fallback, LOL) that needs something current installed, I may give it a look.

I use the new antiX 21 kernel 5.10 on a hp pavilion a1203w desktop computer with 2 GB RAM and one core 1.8 GHz AMD Sempron 3000 processor. It works just fine but plays 720p mp4 files in slow motion.
