How to Convert Audio to Text - FREE & No Time Limits - Kevin Stratvert learn how you can convert recorded speech or voices into text for free and with no time limitations. To transcribe audio to text, we use the Windows 10 Dictation tool and combine it with a virtual audio cable. This audio to text converter works surprisingly well and doesn't cost anything. For this voice to text converter, you need to connect your computer to the internet. Windows Dictation currently supports the following languages: - Simplified Chinese - English - French - German - Italian - Portuguese - Spanish You can also use this technique to convert audio to text using Google Docs Voice Typing (CTRL + Shift + S) or Microsoft Word Dictation. Both work very well. - Additional resources - How to transcribe documents using Word Online (requires a Microsoft 365 subscription): https://youtu.be/FxQvsCBpNAw - Virtual Audio Cable: https://vb-audio.com/Cable/

I got all the way up to the point where you instruct us to change our sound settings. Unfortunately, I only have one option for the dropdown menu. What have I done wrong?
Just to be clear, I downloaded the audio cable, and the file has a number of smaller files inside. Is this normal or did the download not process correctly? Any help would be appreciated. Love

You are amazing ! I'll only tell to add something. You have to previously install the language you want to translate on your O.S such as if you want to transcribe a Italian voice just install the italian language on your machine and then for any other language you wants either.

I did not have much success with the Windows voice dictation. It kept stopping after about one sentence, even though the video was still playing. I was on the verge of giving up, when I tried using the dictate in Word (I know there is a dirty joke here).... and GREAT SUCCESS!!

Unfortunately this did not work for me. The Windows dictation app kept stopping, and did not capture all the text when it was running. Is there any alternative way of converting the speech of a YouTube video to text?

Hi! Thank you for the great information. I had a bit of trouble installing the virtual cable because it didn-t go automatically but I managed manually. It is working fine and and I will do the proofreading when done -

Awesome video Kevin! My wife and I usually type out recorded sermons by hand while listening which can be a very tedious process. But now we just let the computer do the work! Thank you very much. God Bless you!

Hi Kevin ! Thanks for the awesome tutorial . However, the transcription stops after a few lines and I have to click mic icon again . May I know how to make it run smoothly without stopping intermittently. Thanks

Thank you Kevin. A question. The transcription ends after about one screen of text, although the speaking continues. Is there a limit in notepad or word that is causing this? If so, how do we get around this?
