Hopefully you're still providing feedback in this thread. I have an 8-bay NAS. I was upgrading a 3 TB drive to 16 TB. Luckily, problems occurred after the -repair-, but during the consistency check, one of the drives reported as -CRASHED- and the volume degraded. Yet, all indicators within the Synology interface report the drive as healthy and with 0 bad sectors. The only thing I can dig up is that it reports a value for ID 196, which apparently indicates the drive is beginning to degrade. It is a Toshiba drive, though. So, I am not sure if it even supports that field. It's a very expensive hard drive. While I don't want my data to be at risk, at the same time, I want to be sure before throwing hundreds of dollars away. Thanks much for any and all input.

My lenovo E430 screen shows - A disk need error occured
Press Crtl+Alt+Del to restart-.
I had done several time, but same msg shows. How to fix it. Pl. help me. Bad sector shows #3740
