Build Your Own Operating System - Chris Titus Tech
video description
w2k-pro. i can see that Linux is falling apart due to python going from
2-3. the questions is MY ROLER-BALL no longer works with the new
operating system. tried 10 o/s non of them work. however i ran -Kali-
and the roller-ball worked during the loading but when the o/s was
complete the roller-ball no longer worked. do you know a lot about
computers? DOES THE LOADING HAVE A PROGRAM? or is it just using my
-longiteck- by itself with no programing? if this is the case and i
suspect it is then that means i can shut down or turn off the moues to
get it to work. Kali uses a graphical operating system to load so their
is a program but i suspect it is minor and only works for it graphical
interface and not the mouse. i suspect it has no mouse in its programing
to load its operating system?

Thanks for doing this. I have am interest in repurposing old hardware. While there are lightweight to very lightweight distributions that can be installed, the best way is to build a custom distribution for each system. I'm a long way from that right now. It seems Linux from Scratch is the mode I think. But this tutorial may be the easiest way to start. Boy, I have a lot to learn. I grew up on DOS and Windows. Though I could have, I've never dig that deeply into those systems other than configuration efficiency. Mostly to play games.

-ChrisTitusTech: Many thanks for your tutorial. Excellent guide indeed. Suppose I want to create a custom desktop environment on top of Arch Linux, then how would I go about it? To be clear how can I modify an existing desktop environment (Gnome, KDE, other flavors etc) and finally create an installable image of that flavour? Do I need to fix the architecture (x86, ARM etc) before this exercise? Sorry If my question is a bit vague and I would be happy to clarify more. Many thanks for your video again.

Arch is easier?! It's so hard to install when following directions. To this instance, my Being can't seem to get Arch Linux install. No matter how well IT follows, step by step, it just doesn't work. Would you know any link on how to install Arch Linux easily?

Yes! Sir. I am that old. I still like to play with OSs. I enjoy Linux a lot. It gives me the freedom that windows take away from you. And you are not a Spring chick yourself but I like your style. Especially when having a drink while chatting with your followers.

Ummmm, no... As a member of the OSDev community, I heavily disapprove of this... You did not build an operating system, you simple installed KDE. (I mean, don't get me wrong I'd love for more people to use linux (I use Arch, btw) ), but this is just clickbait...

Hey Chris thanks for all you do.
Do you have a video tutorial for how to address a win 7 system that will not boot, not even in safe mode? It gets stuck at classpnp.sys. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

This is not building your own OS. this is just ricing Arch. Unless you have a custom kernel and / or custom userspace then you shouldnt be calling rice an OS... very misinformation and inaccurate content.
