In my experience, many snaps work just fine, but generally apt tends to work better for the time being. For instance, I never managed to get Audacity to run as a snap on Ubunu 18.10; now, using Disco, (19.04) I just went with an apt install to start with. Rock solid.
Also, I noticed that snap versions of apps such as GNOME Calculator and the others that are snap by default in Disco seemed to slow down power up.
There's loads of good stuff about snaps, of course: reverting with a simple and easily-remembered command (I mean, -revert-? How easy can it get?) is just great, and while you're running Snap as one of various package managers, the -list- command is awesome.
Still, a lot more needs to be done until snap is as powerful as apt, at least on the user side.
I haven't tried installing anything that apt isn't able to handle via snap, nor other alternatives. The reason is simple: so far, if it was available as either snap or flatpak, I've been able to use apt either way.

Hey man, I am absolutely stumped how on to remove a program called Facial Recognition that dell puts in their computers. I have givin myself 100% permission on my computer and deleted all files that are related to dell and the programs they include. I ran that script in your other video to clean out any junk programs. And when I restart my computer it came back....again. I would be so greatful if you could give me some advice on how to remove a program thats this persistent....

Snaps were on my last place too, but they are taking the first place today. Snaps and Flatpaks, each have its own advantages and disadvantages, but Canonical and RHEL are improving them, so we will see. This is not a competition, cause I am starting to learn that these two technologies aim different goals. And thanks for the video, Chris.

Thanks so so much for doing this video, I finally was able to get a working install of discord on my mint computer. It's been pretty smooth sailing since I adopted mint but a working discord was going to be a deal breaker. Thanks to you I found and installed the snap. Thanks so much.

Ubuntu/Snapcraft has become a massive security threat to every other distro by writing the snap daemon for them knowing that the way linux has evolved agnostically the user has the choice to install rubbish if they don't know it hasn't been constructed securely. And snapcraft is not.

For beginners You might want to do a video of how to install the snap store. It works for most if not all distro's. I installed it on Arch just cause I can, don't really use it, but there if all else fails. Just a suggestion, New users probably aren't going to try doing so in terminal.

I like most of what snap has to offer ... BUT the big reason I do not use it is due to poor integration with DE's. If you are not using Gnome 3 or Plasma then you have a ton of work to do just to get a shortcut in place. And you have to duplicate that work for every snap you install.

I personally don't like to install apps outside of my system packages unless I have to for whatever reason. I'm not very keen on having the most up-to-date versions of most of my apps, but it's good to have snaps and flatpaks around anyway.
