The database does not allow to change, and I don't want to lose child table, the contaminated people.

Hi there I was looking for a solution on resetting the autonumbering in my related query to to the table on the one that I tried to apply this and even with related tables It worked. thanks man. before you apply it first test it by making a test database and then you will notice, even I was very much wondered that this solution didn't delete my other input values in the query! so pleased to say this. I must say with every change in your design do click save before renewing the view. Again much thanks to you. It works certainly

Post so old and still takes you to school: ) Works on Access on the last day of 2020 (Dec, 31st. Thanks for the video. I will add that, If you have a relationship from the autonumber field you want to erase to many other databases, then you are in big trouble: ) but, if you only have one or two relationships to other databases, erase the relationships first, delete and recreate the field and then add the relationships again.

For some reason, when I transferred my database to a new computer the Primary Key was no longer set to auto number and Access would not allow me to change the setting. This solution did the trick! I appreciate your help!

what if i have deleted all the data and i just want the autonumber to continue numbering starting from 1 and not how it ended before i deleted the data?
