Ever since the release of the Xbox 360, Microsoft has consistently outperformed Sony in the crucial areas of price-to-performance, though much of the gaming community has been slow to fully acknowledge it. The Xbox 360 not only launched earlier than the PlayStation 3 but did so at a significantly lower price point while offering comparable and in many cases superior performance for third-party titles, with smoother frame rates and higher resolutions. This trend quietly continued into the Xbox One X era, where Microsoft delivered the most powerful console of its generation, outperforming the PS4 Pro in raw specs, native 4K capabilities, and backward compatibility, all while offering an evolving online infrastructure through Xbox Live and the revolutionary Game Pass service that dwarfed Sony's offerings in both value and library diversity. The current generation, led by the Xbox Series X, boasts the highest GPU power, faster storage throughput options via the Velocity Architecture, and a far more consumer-friendly pricing strategy through Series S, giving players high-end performance at entry-level costs. Yet, due to brand loyalty, marketing narratives, and regional market dominance by Sony, many gamers have overlooked how Microsoft has quietly been leading the charge in delivering the best bang for the buck setting technical benchmarks while reshaping the ecosystem with services that outpace Sony’s in both accessibility and value. Sad reality.

I am personally frustrated by AMD, continuing to compare the performance of their products to the performance of Intel products. I know that theoretically, they are market competitors, but I have not looked at actually purchasing an Intel CPU in years and I have no idea how they perform. If AMD wanted to convey useful information in these slides, they would convey the generational improvement from the last AMD processor. Why they waste time comparing themselves to Intel is beyond me. Nvidia has, to my knowledge, never made this mistake.

In Dec 2024 I replaced my Ryzen 3 2200G and its 16GB DDR4 (3000 MHz) by a recent Ryzen 5 5600GT (released Jan 2024) and 32 GB DDR4 (3200 MHz). The original CPU/DDR4 combination did costs $175, the upgrade did cost $179. After 5.5 years I doubled memory and increased the CPU speed 3x for $4 more :). I love AMD and AM4 on my 2019 ASRock B450 HDV Rel 4.0 of $59,99!!!
I run 2 to 3 VBox VMs, but I never did see more than a 70% CPU load, but I only have 2 hands and 2 eyes to generate load.

AMD recognized that there is money to be made in supporting the AM4 socket. There are people out there that cannot afford a complete new system, but were willing to upgrade what they have. Are they making the big bucks no. but a lot of small bucks will make up big bucks. The AM4 platform is very good. and by doing it the way they did meant that they could save money while innovating.
I hope the AM5 platform lasts a long time as well

I fully expect we're heading for a future where there's a baseline Xbox console from MS and then all this other 3rd party hardware from handhelds to more powerful custom mini gaming PCs you can put under your tv. It all depends on how good they can make the software and get us away from clunky full desktop Windows on these devices.

Who cares about the new AM4 CPUs, each new release is just weaker than the previous. If they released something more powerful than the 5800X3D that might be exciting. Well I suppose if the 5500X3D actually is a CPU you can buy and not just a micro center exclusive like the 5600X3D. (although doesn't sound like it)

i still find it astonishing how intel still changes socket so often even after being killed by ryzen for almost a decade now and then folding even harder with 13th/14th gen instability and degredation flaws
i dont even wanna know about server cpus and if its the same or worse

I don't have much hope for Nexus Mods at this point. The founder and his staff were increasingly pro-censorship and these new guys are likely to be the same. We might be lucky if they allow you to pay for uncensored mods but any actual improvement in the situation is unlikely.

22:33 I'm sure that if Naga Chandrasekaran was let go they could retain a few hundred to a few thousand factory workers, and still make the required budget cuts. I guess he thought we didn't know what was going on.. Capitalism. Good night.

CHAD AMD producing processors for the same socket for several generations, garbage intel makes two versions of 2011 and two of 1151 sockets incompatible with eachother, exept with bios mods, which means they could, they chose the F you option.

Two thousand eight hundred twenty four Nintendo Switch two console gone and all bricked by Nintendo. Paperweights at best.. pointless for thieves to steal these consoles. Grand theft charges and man when Nintendo comes after you... shit.

noticed a trend how indian techworkers have saturated this field and we see less and less innovation, and buggier end products.
hope they laid off the right people and get proper people with brain and work ethics on board.

nuxusmods have been plagued by exceptional bias when it comes to mods they host for a long while now. I truly hope they come back to their roots and not fall deeper into the political landscape that is ruining PC moding

Glad to hear that the despicable woke trash that was ruining NexusMods has ceased to be a part of it - doubt I will go back though, screw them and their disgusting attitude that we have had to suffer through for years.

Nintendo should be able to trace the MACs on those consoles and ban them, maybe even disable the consoles entirely depending on how their firmware works (assuming someone tried to go online with one).

Dispatcher here. Knowing how much of scam/inside jobs within USA trucking industry - Nintendo switch might be inside job done by dispatcher ( most likely ) or driver ( less but still could be a suspect ).
