It's not completely true that there are -wild- brown trout in the White River. While the fish caught today may be naturally reproducing there were no trout in this river until the dams were built and the trout stocked. Up until the dams were built the White River was a famous small mouth bass fishery. The dams drastically reduced the number of small mouth and they were replaced with trout in the 1940s and 1950s as I recall. Just a little history lesson on this fabulous river. One more thing I didn't hear discussed was timing your fishing to water releases from the dams. Maybe where this was shot is far enough down stream that it's not affected by water releases but most parts of the White are, but I have generally fished further up stream. Keep the good stuff coming.

I live in Arkansas and love the little red river and white river next time your down you should shoot over to crooked creek some really nice smally water!
