The hang is a very effective practice, you should always use this technique, at the end of your retrieve bring the fly quickly right to the edge of where you can see it and watch closely to see if anything follows. Smashed big cutts doing exactly that in October.

The price they charge for a guided trip -, two people can go on a full day halibut, ling cod and rock fish charter for that. Should be $300 or less for each person. That lake isn't that big. Launch your boat and pay attention what areas are being fished.
