ive been targeting carp on the fly these past few weeks and I've got a few of them to bite but for some reason all of the get off after a few seconds? I've tried stripping before setting the hook like you said but they still keep on getting off. do you have any other tips for setting the hook on these fish? or should i maybe use a fluorocarbon leader to prevent line stretch?

What is with the rotten landing net? You are using some of the best (most expensive) fly rods available and yet you don't have a (fairly inexpensive) fish friendly net. The open knotted pool cleaning net that is being used causes damage to scales, fins and gill covers! Fish care please Orvis.

Catching a carp on the fly is something special! If you want to experience the drag and getting into your backing you need to feel the power and strength of these fish! So much fun!

I love when people say beautiful fish or good fish when they catch carp. I think saying something more like chubby Fish or gross fish would be more accurate

We just remove all carp from the waters we fish, as they really mess everything up for the native fish species.
