FINGER MULLET Catch, Clean & Cook ( COOKING OUR BAIT) featuring SETH McGINN Corbit: My Maternal Grandmother fished all the time, and still bought fish market mullet in Central Georgia weekly, we eat mullet every week and whatever else we caught out of farm ponds and the Ocmulgee river. Some if my fondest memories of my buddies mom is labor day dove shoot with a mullet dinner afterwards, hot, tired and hungry the whole family was there. As a teen and in my 20 -s we fished the Altamaha sandbars for mullet with bait stakes and cane poles. The catches were fried or smoked and were the main course in a many great meals. I will still order mullet from time to time in some resturants where they are a specialty.

I don't like mullet personally but as as a Florida girl i know you gotta know about White City park in Fort Pierce as a Florida boy was the place where you can catch mullet all day i remember my grandma would sit out there all day with her friends and we would have those brown paper bag lunches and just fish all day and use flour and water dough or stale white bread on a cane pole to catch um with boy those were the good old days

Gabe, I grew up in Panama City, FL. My dad built castle's and still does at 86 yo. We ate mullet my whole life, with cheese grits and hush puppies. They are vegetarians and every other fish wants to eat them! I love them fried, smoked, grilled. I love the yellow roe and the gizzard.

Gabe, I grew up eating fried Mullet on the Mississippi coast. When I was a kid, mullet were known as Biloxi bacon. I still wade for mullet several times a year. You should try filleting the bigger mullet and smoking them. It makes great smoked fish dip also. We love your videos.

When visiting my grampa in Duxbury as a kid, he would cook just the Mullet roe in Bakon grease. The thin membrane was hard not to rip when cooking. The very tiny eggs are a delicacy! I have not forgoten how tasty they were for over 40 years.
