My childhood backyard in the Philippines was a swamp similar to yours, it was our playground. One time a greenish mossy log appeared, was not there day before. We started treating it like a bridge log walking on top then it started moving and slithering. Nobody panicked nor screamed, just calmly got off, quickly got far from there, never told the adults because we wanted it to be a pet maybe, so sad we never saw it again, the swamps were extensive.
I'm happy for your children having such rich well grounded/rounded experience.
They will grow to be extraordinary adults because of their upbringing and experience.

I just watched this video at 3: 30am. I raised my children in a similar fashion. Hikes, creeks, boating, fishing! My daughter moved to British Columbia and lives about half way up in the mountains. When she arrived there 14 years ago the first thing she did was buy a fishing license. She has a daughter now and her daughter spends most of her time outdoors when possible. Warm weather or cold. We still have little fires in my backyard all year long and sit around them, cook on them and talk to one another. No social media allowed! It's real and its connecting for family.

Leopard geckos are great starter pets! Jus be prepared to buy crickets once a week or month depending on your setup to house crickets in Florida you could probably use a big Rubbermaid tub to have a cricket farm so you don-t have to buy crickets at all. Leopard geckos can be trained to be handled mine lived at least ten years before it passes away. But they are awesome! I highly recommend one for a good starter pet. Easy to breed and there are so many color hybrids that can be bred it-s nuts.

Loved the video! I used to play in the creek that ran near my house as a kid. My Mom n Dad threw fits n told us to stay out of it. I just couldn't stay out of it. I was 16 n still played in the creek. I caught crayfish, tadpoles, frogs, salamanders, snails n minnows. My parents never let me keep any yet one of my older sisters had an alligator. Go figure. Lol

I honestly like these more personal videos. Seeing how these boys get to grow up is awesome. I totally agree with you, let kids be kids. Let them get dirty, let them run in the brush and creeks. That how we do it still. Have a blessed day and keep up the great work

We had a little creek behind the area we lived in, was called Shit creek, you can imagine why. we were playing there all the time, hunting giant rats with bowslings and spears, more the once there was accidental bath in it.

hey Mr. Gabe you could take the boys out with catch em all and let him teach them how to catch there own iguanas after you and Kelly Young build a escape proof iguana out side cage. when the grow big enough you harvest them.

Better get your reptiles soon. the FWD are about to. if they hadn't already. band most exotic reptiles in Florida. Just got a notice about a week ago.
