Sorry but the water should not scald, scalded flesh tears easily 140f to 155f MAX, turkey is a lean bird, keep the skin on, go ahead and skin ducks geese, even chicken, my point of agreement ishappy, healthy clean stock is what food is supposed to taste like, fewer and fewer of us are lucky enough to be exposed to reality real food, real dirt, real harvest real respect for what's on your plate, we raise our own, we raise well, we eat well. That was some fine looking meat off that bird. Thanks for the nice respectful presentation. Reminds me that I need to track down my former student who has a sustainable yak ranch. Haven't had yak since I lived in China, where folks (at least in those days) always knew where their food came from.

Appreciated your sensitivity.
I lived with a friend once who raised two geese. She had my dad butcher them as he used to do that on his parents farm. I somehow was unprepared to feel their still warm bodies when I started plucking them, it bothered me a lot, but I was not used to it.

nice looking meat there. I too enjoy hunting, fishing, raising game (eggs right now, and trapping. These are all very useful skills to have and know. like you touched on, there is just something about it that my soul requires!

Thanks Shawn for making this video. These skills need to be taught. Most people have lost so many skills their grandparents had. Please continue with more; greatly appreciated. Good day

Very nice way to live, life is better when lived in a simple way. I was raised on a farm so I am very familiar with this sort of life style. You video brings back memories of simpler days.

It's been awhile since I plucked a bird but I'd say you did it pretty close to how I was taught. Thank you for sharing this. I hope it makes folks more mindful of the food they eat.

Nice little farm. Our family only eats organic meat. My husband is a hunter here in Newfoundland. Nice knowing where your meat is coming from. Thanks for sharing this great video.

Wow. I did not find that disturbing at all. Found it very interesting, since I never really thought what goes into the preparation of having a poultry meal. Great info.

Great video Shawn. Keep em' coming. If you could spotlight some local organic/grass fed beef chicken in the Durham region it would be great. Cheered.
