Carrot bacon, for the self righteous twits who want to be vegetarian but can't escape the concept of eating meat. Just call them what they are, vegetable crisps. It's like vegan meat shouldn't be called that unless carved off the corpse of a vegan but has to be as folk would shy away from the vagueness of the processed gunk it actually is.
Blue bread just reminds me of the trek episodes where scotty can only identify a drink as being green. The rasps from my garden have never been that awful industrial blue colour.
That eggy toastie is something I came across decades ago as a self contained breakfast while hiking. Can also be done as a desert with more of a custardy egg mix and use something like bramley & cinnamon or rhubarb & ginger as the filling.

i don't understand why it's so hard to comprehend why vegetarians would want meat substitutes. They like the experience of eating meat but there are plenty of other reasons why they would chose not to. if it's possible (which it is) to make satisfying substitutes for PARTICULAR cuts such as bacon. then why would they not brand it as vegetarian bacon. its designed to satisfy that PARTICULAR craving without having to kill an animal, take a high toll on the environment and on personal health.

Perfectly reasonable to call a substitute after the original. I'm not vegan and to be honest it doesn't affect me what they call it. I don't eat vegan substitutes but find it weird that people should get angry about what they call their food. Don't tell me you don't enjoy your bacon sandwich just because vegans have called it carrot bacon. I'm fully in support of vegans here. Grow up meat eaters.
P. s. herbal teas are not from the tea plant yet they're still called tea.

I have to say, you guys have really up'ed your game. Instead of just watching a fun video with a good group of mates, I've actual used the 5: 3 recipe for pizza dough (topped with gruyere, mozzarella, spicy soy-garlic-glazed chicken with green onions and sesame seeds) With the twists you added to the egg sandwich, I'm going to try that recipe, too. From one chef to another--well done!
May I ask what cuisine(s) you focus on or are your favorite?

Aww I remember plastic wrap cheese, my mother used to believe the plastic wrap on the slices was edible. So grill cheeses always had this melted plastic taste - she also believed the plastic wrap on top of a premade frozen lasagna was intended to be left on. As an adult I know its just excessive waste in these products not some strange product feature.

I 100% agree with James! The carrot recipe sounds delicious and looked quite tasty, but it's not bacon. Just call it what it is and let people love it for what it is There's no way it would satisfy a bacon craving. The texture might be enjoyable for a bacon craving moment, but chips/crisps would be better as they'd be crispy and salty.

I agree James! I love soy milk, but it doesn't taste like milk. I love veggieburgers but they don't taste like beef hamburgers, All of these vegetables taste wonderful when you stop trying to compare them to the meat products they are not. If I had that bacon carrots and was told it was bacon I would be disappointed.

Crunch from (actual) crispy bacon? Also have the bread pre-buttered/mayo d and keep that side up when you initially lay it in the pan so it crisps like grilled cheese after the flip. I also think some pre-fried/crispy onions and/or hash browns could really take it to another level.
Great, fun video!

You guys need to try the egg sandwich the Korean way - with a slice of cheddar on one side and a dollop of strawberry jam on the other. I thought it sounded and looked so weird when I first watched it being made - but when I tried it. . The sweet-salty combo really works well with the egg and bread!
