I am absolutely impatient and not really feeling that the odds will be in my favor concerning the knife giveaway. This Black Friday sale is too good to pass up. Just ordered the 7 Nakiri. I’ve been eyeing that knife for a while now. I’m gonna have to hide it. I got a really good quality, German steel chef’s knife a few years ago. My roommates use it, throw it in the dishwasher, then toss it in the utensil drawer. Time to get that one sharpened and hidden as well. Sorry roomies that your $10 Walmart knife was dull right out of the package. All of my knives slide through ingredients like butter. Nobody touches the Nakiri except me!

You didn't mention what kind of cheese you used, and I genuinely hope it was sharp provolone. That's the only cheese that belongs on a pulled pork Italiano.
Also rosemary and pork are a match made in heaven. I'd probably go a little bit heavier on the rosemary. Fennel was a nice touch, don't know that I've noticed fennel in any sandwiches from Philly, but it's a great spice and probably adds something.
Great recipe though. I'm often craving this sandwich and don't feel like trekking down to the Reading Terminal Market for it. Now I have a way of making one at home without roasting a giant pork shoulder for days.

My fiance knows I really wanted a good set of knives for Xmas/birthday so went to your website as she figured it was highly unlikely I'd win a free one. However when she went to pay discovered it was going to cost only marginally less than the cost of the knives.
I appreciate we live on the opposite side of the world but seriously $71 made it a hard pass as it seems unjustified. May need to look into how and why it's so expensive.
By the way love your work and we thoroughly enjoy watching your content.

Wow that sandwich looked delicious if you wanna try something really good the way you made the broccoli rabi add one or two anchovy fillets mix it up that they dissolve cook yourself up some linguine add a little of the pasta water to the saute pan and then when your linguine is al dente put it in the pan and saute it up a little bit broccoli rabi and I like it with Romano cheese unbelievable little garlic bread on the side happy holidays

Sam, c'mon man, the Philly Cheesesteak has a hundred years of history and cultural absorbance and is not to be cast aside because of broccoli rabe. Pork sandwiches are great one of my favorites and I'm from Philly but NOTHING is a better representation of local culinary excellence than a Philly Cheesesteak topped any way you like. except maybe warm Philly Cut Corned Beef and Swiss topped with either slaw or warm sauerkraut on fresh baked Jewish Rye!

Well, as a New Yorker, I am not qualified to say one is better than the other, but I will say that this sandwich looks real good. Not being a greens person, I think, subconsciously, I thought that rabe stuff was a form of broccoli, and I am not a fan of that. So hearing that it's not broccoli, I will give it a chance. I don't have a pressure cooker, but I do have a Crock Pot, so I have to use it instead.
Thanks guys.

I’m not sure what you do with your cooking equipment when you’re finished cooking with it.
But I spend time CLEANING everything including the Grill, The Stove etc till it’s Spotless and Sanitary.
WTH is with the electric hot plate or Gas mini burner that’s got debris on the outside of pan supports
That is Unseemly looking. To say the least.
Otherwise I enjoy watching your videos.

Mastrocola’s in Conshocken had the best pork sandwich. Conshocken Italian Bakery rolls the whole side of pork that was perfectly seasoned and extra sharp provolone with peppers and the juice from the ladle. It was awesome! Conshocken is about 45 minutes west of 30th Street Station. Too bad they sold out in the early 90’s that was the best pork sandwich anywhere!

That looks great! I'm not from Philly and have no investment in tradition on this sandwich, plus I love a pressure cooker and use one weekly in my house, but I do appreciate the meanings of words. Roast is a dry heat cooking method. Pressure cookers rely on wet cooking methods. You made a tasty stewed pork sandwich.

you're bordering on heresy here pal. Growing up within sight of Center City, a proper cheese steak is a religion (NOT Pat's or Geno's, there are better. This better be good.
OK, it looks pretty damn good. But don't compare it to or reference a cheese steak and call it what it is and you'll be OK.

I've been all about pork butt (Boston Butt) lately. I'm doing fresh Italian sausage, chorizo, carnitas, and dry cured capocola, Soon I'd like to try Rillettes. It's an amazing and inexpensive cut of meat. I haven't even thought of getting into bbq smoking of it, but I know it is amazing there too.

I haven't even tried this yet, but just watching the video with my mouth watering all the way, I have already chosen this to be my Numero Uno over the Philly Cheese Steak! Change My Mind! (Maybe with good beef shank substitute Just sayin', as a possibility)

Just so people understand.
The cup of liquid turns into a gas, gas takes up more room than liquid, making a high pressure environment. Pressure Cooking
So the Naturally releasing pressure Is actually just that gas (steam) turning back into a liquid.

So it's basically not philly cheesesteak, just a different sandwich, it's like saying a fish patty a hamburger. Why compare the two It's the same. Don't try to rewrite a tradition and say it's better. It's a new sandwich. Sam Sandwich, not Philly.

Pork Roast sandwich, this is older than my grandma. That broccoli what ever stuff makes it look NOT appetizing at all. Looks like slimy spinach Dont like slimy sandwiches. Gonna pass on this.

He made an average sandwich, but he praises his technique throughout the video like he is a MasterChef! But the end result just a very average! Like maybe try next time

Grew up in the Philly suburbs (Delco) but not familiar with this recipe. It looks awesome, but am wondering if pork sandwiches are more of a South Jersey thing
