Here's a video of me reacting to my cringey first video ever as Sam the Cooking Guy (from 2001. Rottidog: Awesome & down to Earth! The down to Earth parts, like not finding your whisk, an at home kitchen & not some fancy schmancy TV studio setting with everything all perfect IS REAL COOKING! Yes you're human & not a freaking painted up robot like we see on most shows where there is probably sous chefs pre-making everything & all the host does is slap it together. BBQ Pit Boyz have gotten way too 'commercialized' IMO. They literally throw things together, show a shot of it & then something almost completely different is in the next shot all nice & perfect (almost. Most of the time it looks nothing like what they had prepared a few minutes earlier. It doesn't seem real. Yours does. Thank-you Sam, Max & all who spend the hours into making these videos! Oh & Happy (belated) Ownerversary of Not Not Tacos. July 2nd 2018 was it not? Happy Birthday on Aug. 7th, if I don't comment then.

I am a person who is deeply uncomfortable when other people embarrass themselves (the German word for it is Fremdscham. I have to say I never felt any of this while watching your 1st video - it seems remarkably consistent with your present personality, was informative and entertaining and not the least bit cringey to me. Thank you for sharing this, and particularly revealing Alberto so we can silently thank him as well. You have given me many hours of joy watching your videos (particularly the Paula Dean spoof - I dont think Ive laughed so hard in years. You are a gift to us all.

Hi Sam, I live in Manchester England and watch Youtube every time you post to relax and avoid watching the tv with the wife and kids! I must have well over 400 subscriptions that I watch and none are cooking programs. We have Gorden Ramsey etc but you, my friend make me laugh and I genuinely learn new easy was to cook. A proper guy doing well and your son is called Maxwell as is mine (he's 20)Keep up the good work and motivation it really is appreciated buddy.

All I know from your notes now is how OCD/anal you are! The demo was excellent and you were almost perfect. I got to see those early 30 minute shows (as reruns, late at night in SC) And I recall them fondly. Really regretted when they took them down and replaced you with Rockford Files reruns. My thought's the people you demo'd to were subpar. You should'a sent it out more. BTW, this is coming from one OCD to another. =Not easy being us, huh?

Another thing. You have conquered the reflected light demon in your glasses. What a pain in the ass! That first video I can't even see your eyes! I remember one of my first interviews, we were shooting a celebrity who wore glasses and I was so nervous and star struck that I never noticed the big circular light that filled his frames whenever he looked up a couple of degrees. Tsk. Glasses. Tsk. Reflected lights. Tsk. Ruined interview. Damn.

Hey I remember this Sam the cooking guy. I love that it's in your kitchen. I love that things aren't readily available and you can't find things I do that in my own kitchen all the time. Where is that pan where is my garlic press where's my strainer. Lol. All these years and I still love the show as I did day one. Although this video one of several of yours I watched today it was the second reference about Utah LOL

Was just thinking about wanting to watch one of your first videos and I saw this. Met you last week and honestly, you were exactly how I thought you would be to meet! Really cool, kind, and just showing that you really care about your supporters! You didnt hesitate to cut your conversation short to snap a photo where others may have had a different reaction to being interrupted. (I did apologize for that)

Great you have the gumption and where with to go back and look at yourself; a deer in the headlights you were not! We all have to start from somewhere. Given the minimalist production approach you had at the time, your presentation experience, you actually faired fairly well. Your pitch worked and life is good, yes! Youve always had that bedside manner to be a competent presenter; a unique confident style.

I love this video. I have watched many, many of your videos and I am always so entertained by you. I for one and happy that you stuck it out after your demo because you are wonderfully entertaining to watch and listen to. And the food you cook ---need I say more! You are so down to earth. Love you and your videos and please ignore the negative comments and keep them coming. Thank you

I work with that brutal idiot that you speak up at (8: 15. Search brutal s+ to me all the time, and he doesn't even know me. They are assholes. I had a manager who once laughed at me when I asked him for his promise of of position upgrade on my job. He actually had the gall to invite one of his buddies into the office and they both had a good laugh on my account
