Welcome to Cebu, the capital where you ll find the best Filipino roast pig, better known as lechon. Today we re going on an ultimate pig tour to eat the best lechon in the Philippines - maybe the entire world! It s going to be a day of crispy skin, juicy pork, and the action is going to be insane! StanlyonMedia - First of all thank you to my friend Stanly from Stanly On Media - he s the king of lechon and he s been to so many lechon spots in and around Cebu so there s no better person to go on a lechon tour with. Go follow Stanly for many more lechon recommendations in the Philippines: Gogoes Lechon - First up is Gogoes lechon located north of Cebu. We arrived at 5 am to see the process of them roasting their lechon. They fill up the belly of the pig with sea salt and a combination of spices that includes ginger and especially green onions. The pigs roast for 3 - 4 hours, carefully being turned as they roast so the skin cooks and crispfies perfectly. It was sensational and a perfect way to start this ultimate Filipino lechon tour. (Price - they wouldn t charge us) Ruthy's Lechon - Next up we headed to Talisay, known as the birthplace of lechon, and where the original lechoneros come from. Stanly first took me to Ruthy s one of the standards of lechon - packed and they fly through the pigs. We chopped up a 3 kilo belly section of the pig. The skin was insanely crispy, salty, and full of juicy green onions. Price - 2, 940 pesos Lolo Soy's Lechon House - Finally, one of the greatest lechon s in all of the Philippines, Lolo Soy's Lechon House. They fly through pigs and they had already sold over 20 pigs by the time we arrived. The action is out of control! We ordered a kilo and they also gave us some of the feet, plus some of the blood stew. Price - 750 per kg, we had 1 kg Paraz Native Lechon - For our last stop on this ultimate Filipino lechon tour we drove down to Carcar, another famous lechon city. We went to Paraz Native Lechon where they sell over 50 pigs a day, and they use native natural pigs. The pigs are still roasted over coals using traditional bamboo skewers. They chop it up, it s so insanely juicy and then they drizzle on the drippings with all the onions. Additionally, they are known for their chili vinegar, which is some of the best you ll have anywhere.

I'm 54 and I and my wife earn 15, 000 bi-weekly returns from our digital assets portfolio but we are VERY worried about our future because of the gas and food prices rising daily. We have had our savings up high with the cost of living into the stratosphere, we are finding it impossible to retire. We can get by, but cant seem to get ahead. My condolences to anyone retiring in this crisis, 30years nonstop just for a crooked system to take all you worked for.

Only the Cebu lechon can you eat without flavor enhancer like what they often do in Luzon island and elsewhere. They can't appreciate the taste of their lechon unless they have Mang Tomas dipping sauce. I tried it once in Manila and true enough, their lechon tasted so bland you really need Mang Tomas to bring its flavor.

Mark, Thank you so much for visiting Cebu. My father was from Cebu and I have always wanted to visit. I always hear Cebu makes and sells the best guitars, which my dad did play. I really want to visit now. Thank you so much for the time and effort in your food visits and reviews.

OMG that meat looked so Yummy. I know you 2 didn't eat all that lechon at every place. SO what do you do with the rest of the food. I hope not waste it. Its just a question cause i see you order a lot of food all the time and there's no way to be able to eat all that.

Mark, lechon is eaten throughout the world. If it has any origin in its association with the Spanish word lechon it's probably Spain which introduced peccary to all of its colonies including those in the Americas and the Philippines.
It does look delicious!

U said puso is a compress rice then they wrapped it with coconut leaves, No! It's not how the way u make pusu, u put the uncooked rice inside the coconut leaf then boiled it with water just like how u cook rice.

I had the honor of experiencing Lechon in 1990 at a Philipino birthday party in Houston, Texas, USA back in 1991. The little piglet was carved as if it were a loaf of bread. It tasted wonderful!

Mark Wiens, you're crazy! How can you even devour an entire large chili with the lechon meat! But. If you must eat lechon, there is no place else on Earth where you could enjoy the best lechon!

Told you Mark, you are very popular in the Philippines. But where is the very popular spicy lechon from Cebu, you should have tasted that, that is more heavenly than the normal lechon.
reply

Mark I don't think it was meant for you to break off the skin they wanted you to smell the aroma you always do stuff that is unnecessary and I'm called for that was very rude
