Thank you to Tassos for taking me on this incredible Greek food tour of Athens Athens is a city that Ive wanted to visit ever since learning so much about it during one of my Western Civilizations classes in High School. Finally, I had a chance to visit, not only for the amazing history, but mainly for the amazing Greek food In this video, Im taking you on a one day, all out Greek food tour of Athens along with Tassos. We ate a combination of classic Greek street food snacks, and a few restaurants, including for dinner some of the best lamb chops Ive ever had. Here are all the restaurants and places included in this Greek food tour of Athens: Dexameni Cafe - Our first stop was to drink Greek coffee in this small public square. A great environment, and the coffee was excellent. Price - 1. 80 EUR per cup Kostarelos Deli - Tassos knows his Greek cheese and he says Kostarelos Deli has some of the best cheese in Athens

I live in Melbourne, Australia and we have a huge Greek population in our city that moved here mostly after World War 2. In fact, Melbourne has the largest number of Greek people of any city in the world outside of Greece itself. I'm not Greek but I grew up near a very Greek neighbourhood so a significant percentage of the people I've ever known are Greek, or part Greek, or the kids/grandkids of Greek immigrant parents. Now I say this with love, they can be very emotional and over-dramatic people (you know it's true, but they're very down to earth and very genuine. Best people you'll ever meet.

I want to hear it from you guys. All this heavenly food, the outstanding landscapes, 330 days of sun per year, and I haven't even mentioned the numerous islands where you can find a new meaning in your life every day. So I am asking you. How are the Greeks supposed to find time and appetite to go to work?

It's all just Turkish food from when the Ottoman empire owned all of Greece. They just give a Greek name and pretend its from their culture. Souvlaki is Adana kebab from Adana. Peter bread as he says is Pide (pi-deh) and is a Turkish word. None of it is Greek.
