Visit my website for lots for travel and food, click here: Pahurat, located just a five minute walk from Yaowarat Chinatown in Bangkok, Thailand, is the Little India of Thailand. Though it's a small area, Pahurat is packed with all kinds of interesting Indian merchandise, textiles, cloth, and a few reputable Indian restaurants. Though I haven't yet been to India (I would love to go soon, I sometimes go to Pahurat ) to explore and of course dine of delicious Indian food. In this video after doing a little walking around and checking out the area, I went over to one of my favorite street side Indian restaurants in Bangkok - a small eatery known as Toney Restaurant. Indian food in Bangkok is not normally overly cheap, in fact it's been marketed as quite an expensive cuisine and often housed in nicer sit down restaurants. However, Pahurat, there is plenty of Indian food available and many things are quite a bit cheaper than other Indian restaurants in town. So next time you visit Bangkok, be sure to stop by Pahurat for street food and exploration

Suvarnbhumi airport to by taxi (take taxi from departure 3 rd fl. not from arrival ask driver to dont use toll otherwise you have to pay 300+75+100=475 bht) phahurat taxi fare 300 bht, ac room in phahurat 400 bht & above for indian food 130 thai bht you can eat very tasty chicken, roti, salad or veg dishes. at phahurat behind veer house guest house. & in the morning go to gurudwara sahib just close to india emporium. carry your whisky & beer from india, otherwise you have to pay double then india. (1 Light beer 90 bht = 180 rs. to 130 bht =260 rs. , whiskey half 500 bht & above, indian beer & whiskey better then thai) beware dont carry indian duty free whiskey, buy from thai duty free otherwise they can ask you why did you bought from your country duty free bcs other country duty free not aplicable in thai land or buy from local shop near you in india. no body will question, one more thing taxi driver can make your destination route longer & can cheat you so use google drive.

Sigh, I tried this as the vid looked really convincing. Sad to say that this is a pretty disappointing joint. NOT an authentic Indian food place to any account but maybe a Nepali place. Gave it a 2nd try as I must have missed something but still you really do get what you pay for. Curry and Masala missed the mark most definitely. Do yourselves a favor and save yourself the trip. I would definitely recommend Rainbow restaurant/hostel in Chakrabongse, Khao San serving real authentic Indian food and my weekly favorite plus great service. You should definitely give them a shot if you want authentic cuisine. Just my 2 cents.

Hi Mark. We visited Tony's last week and sat at the same spot where you sat while making this video. I had taken along some Thai and Indonesian friends and we had Butter Chicken, Chicken Masala, Daal and Roti's. This is one of the best authentic Indian meals I've had outside India and at a extremely good price. We were so stuffed we had to skip the masala tea: -. Thanks to your video I was able to find this place in half a minute. My friends plan to go there again. Cheers. :-)

Another mouth watering video. The only annoying thing is, you are not overweight LOL Mutters, 'No Justice' But seriously, am looking forward to visiting there in december. Also, I heard there is an even smaller area called 'Little Africa', or is that not correct? Truly, the variety and quality of food available in Thailand is amazing I still love the street stalls best, but the small cafe; s and family run restaurants are good too. I'll just avoid the Western Fast Food

Hey Aaron, great to hear you are living in Bangkok Ari does have some good street food and restaurants, great area. To get to this place you go to India Emporium and across the street there's a small soi that's marked by some luggage stores. Walk in that street until you reach the T and you'll see this restaurant on the right hand corner - the kitchen is across the walking street from the seating area. Let me know if you find it and how you like the food

Bangkok it's an amazing city where you can find anything you wish to buy in special great food, it's huge the range of food you can find in Thailand and you know how to choose always the best dishes possible. Congratulations Mark Wiens, all your videos are very interesting and informative, perhaps we'll find one another at Land of Smiles to eat together the best Thai Food.

Great video man, good skills with the camera, and that area looks so intriguing on video. Gotta check it out in real life Hey you didnt give words to that 3rd dish I saw there (I knew you had to have ordered more than what you showed by the price, and then I looked again and in your final shot you can see the 3rd dish)

Thanks Ken, yes definitely avoid the fast food The little Africa area of Bangkok is probably Sukhumvit Soi 3/1, it's kind of an African and Middle Eastern area, lots of interesting things and also plenty of good restaurants. I go there from time to time for the food as well
