T-bone is my favourite.
What's kinda funny is, we would have the occasional animal done on the farm in the '80s. in the Yarra Valley. Beautiful pastures, and they happened to be Angus, before the hype. I cannot forget the steaks, T-bones in particular.
Did I mention they were cooked over a woodfire barbie We weren't trying hard back then, it was the norm. which I suppose is how these things naturally come about.
Our BBQ was a stack of loosely planted red bricks, with an old stormwater pit grate on top. It was fuelled by local eucalyptus and Vic Ash offcuts from my dad's furniture company. There is no comparison.

Sydneysider here - I went to the Gidley earlier this year and their cheeseburger probably is the best one I've ever had, and I've eaten a lot of cheeseburgers.
Cool that you got permission to keep your phone! My friend sneaked his in to keep because his wife was heavily pregnant at the time and not with us.
Also, it's such a Sydney thing to have to stand outside a bar or restaurant now and wonder if you're going to go into the right building or not

You eat like a 3 year old little boy.

They recommend that the spinalis be cooked medium but at best that was medium rare leaning more to the rare side and the T-bone steak is the tenderloin and the other side is the New York strip steak or just a strip steak not a sirloin

Given how expensive everything is these days, I feel. the quality justified the price and most of us Sydney siders will never go but I wonder if that is one of the rare places a tip is expected as we are not really a tipping country

The 2 parts of a T bone steak are the filet (filet mignon) and the strip. (New York strip. The steak becomes a Porterhouse steak depending on how large the filet side is. Sirloin is completely different.

We have a dinner reservation there for my birthday during our trip to Sydney in 2 weeks' time! So glad I picked this place from the list my Sydneysider daughter sent me.

I guess it is completely coincidental that both restaurants are under common ownership and allowed Mark to bring a camera in. It is almost like this is an ad

Is Australia a good country to visit Asking people who have visited from other countries, not so much people that live there. I might want to go for a holiday

Looks delish, but $ 75 for that steak alone at Gidley's not including any sides, flavored butters/sauces is a little steep. over $100 per person easily.

Only problem with this place is that it is almost impossible to get a reservation on Saturday dinner; need to be super fast on the website.

People in Australia are dying of starvation. They can't afford a place to live let alone a $150 meal. Hope you enjoyed your meal.

Love the no phone concept, throwback to early 2000's lol when food connoisseurs did it for the vibe and not social media clout
