Welcome to Paris, France! Today we’re eating some of the best French food in Paris in 24 hours! From a classic croissants for breakfast to one of the great ham sandwiches on earth, a French bistro for steak au poivre, and the best French meal of my life - this is going to be a day you'll never forget. 7: 30 AM - Du Pain et des Idées - This is one of the pilgrimage bakeries (boulangeries) in Paris, and I tried their escargot, signature bread, croissant, and a twisted sweet roll that was incredible. Total price - 22. 20 for everything 10 AM - Caractère de Cochon - Easily one of my all time favorite French fast foods is Jambon-beurre, a French ham sandwich that’s about as good as things get. And this spot is known for making some of the best in Paris. Total price - 36 for everything 12: 30 PM - Bistrot Paul Bert - It’s time for lunch, and we’re eating at one of the highest regarded bistros in Paris known for serving traditional French food. Everything was good, but their steak au poivre and the fries were a highlight. Total price - 203. 50 for 3 people 3 PM - LULU Crperie - It’s the middle of the afternoon on this 24 hour French food tour, and I stopped at the market to eat a galette, the savory version of a crepe, and it blew me away. Price - 12 5 PM - Coffee time, you can’t go to Paris without enjoying its cafe culture! 7: 30 PM - Chez Dumonet - For dinner I’m meeting up with Ali and we’re going to a restaurant that serves pilgrimage worth French food. I can honestly say, this was the best French meal I’ve had in my life - for the first time I truly understood the complexity and skill to prepare each dish. It was life-changing, and the chef was hilarious and welcoming. Total price - 265 for everything This was the best day of French food I’ve ever had in my life! In Chichester, England, there used to be a French Restaurant I remember going to. Thoroughly enjoyed the snails and frog's legs there.
French cuisine has some stand out dishes, some of which won't be synonymous with Paris. Bouillaibaisse from Marseilles on the south coast, is a dish that has to be had. Beef bourguignon is another classic, a deep red wine sauce that is packed with flavour.
I'd also highly recommend potato dauphinoise, as well as potato boulangere.

I love that Mark is in Paris, Baguette Jambon Beurre is better with cornichon (French pickle cuke. I would also love to eat at Bistrot Paul Bert. Those frites are the real fries. and Steak au Poivre looks too too good. Wow Mark is eating with such enjoyment, BTW, not all French mustard is Dijon which is the most popular, there is also Maille, and the best Moutarde de Meaux Pommery. GREAT Video, best Food ever

paris (and france at large) is great because it has never sold out to whatever vapid culture was happening at the time. it is a real city with real values, and no one (business owners especially) is going to play to the times, vloggers, creators or whtaever. you have to leave whatever you think of yourself at home. paris will rediscover it for you, and show you who you really are haha
reply

not sure if it's cooked ham because when i was in culinary school i only did 1 year pretty much every class room had these massive sous vide vats full of hams just bathing there. i never once saw anyone take them out either. maybe they forgot about the hams.
sous vide isn't considered cooking right idk maybe it is. when i think cooking something needs to boil at the very least.

in paris you can get the best parisian food
france is a lot more than paris
that 36 for two sandwich is such a tourist trap
the average price for 1kg of butter is roughly 12
for 1kg of ham is around 15/20
the baguette is rarely more than 2
paying that sandwich 5 would already be overpriced athough reasonnable. dont fall for it people

So good to be transported to places which a layman approves of. Very disappointing when you travel and just live on cheap but not good food. The last time I had bread like this was in Iraq but then their restaurants only served the best _ France was their fresh food provider. Sad to think all that luxury was taken away by war.

Dear Mark I was Happy to See you and have a few words with you in Paris! We met rue Montorgueil and we shook hands. When I left I realized that I Forgot to ask for a selfie! When I came Back home I told my wife that I met you and She asked for the selfie! . Better luck next Time!

Time has shifted. Now if you want to visit Europe it’s Iceland, Norway, Finland, Poland, Austria, Switzerland and few others.
UK and France are reserved for those who wanted to visit Middle East because they both are so advanced in everything they turned their countries into it.

That time you don't see a real WOW on Mark's face and he's got a point. I prefer watching him eat rats. The bakery is just like any other, the sandwiches are dry and cut your mouth, the third place is absolutely tasteless not to be rude. Then again what do you want from Paris
reply

Not a fan of cold sandwiches, they always feel too dry, even more so when the bread is more on the brown side.
France is known for the pastry, but again everything looks too dry.
Don't know about the taste, but the rest of the food looked really good.

Thanks For the lovely video. I lost my mum to cancer a couple months ago and she used to watch you and enjoy your videos so very much. Was feeling quite depressed today and this totally cheered me and brought me such a sense of comfort. Thank you.
reply

Very good video. Just one thing: eating french charcuterie (specially terrine) without bread is not the rigth way. In France we eat still charcuterie, cold cuts with bread. For a French, eating charcuterie without bread is like a blasphemy.
reply

Hi! A little correction = A Jambon Beurre mean Ham & butter only! No cheese.
With cheese Emmental with ham its a Jambon Fromage, or commun name a Mixte.
You should try the one in Petit Vandome bistrot in 1th near place Vandome!

i live in southern Illinois and we have natural Morels for a few weeks of the year depending on the conditions. when Morel season comes around, some businesses will take Morels as payments instead of cash lol they are SOOOOOO Good
reply

Nice video. Would be interested in seeing you expand out into regional France. Everyone goes to Paris, and everyone reports on the food. The real French regional food is in Burgundy, Lyon, Brittany, etc.
reply

Thanks for the video - just in time because I'll be taking my daughter to an art Summer Camp in the 11th arrondissement - just 16min. of walk to Bistro Bert: -P I won't be too bored I hope for TWO weeks!
reply

Enfin! At Least! Ten Years I follow you And you ignore France!
It's good thing you came Paris But you have to discover a lot of Regions in the country
Welcome in France Mark!

reply

OH WOW! The food was mouth watering. Micah is getting so big, he's lovely. I was there when you posted the video of his birth. Time really does fly. I still miss Ying's laugh.
reply
