Years ago I saw another one of your chicken parmesan recipes, and after I made it I was completely spoiled and I judge every chicken parm against that one. It's the only recipe that I've ever used since. It was a 3-cheese one (mozzarella, provolone, and parmesan) with chiffonade basil leaves buried within the cheeses. Yes, it's more labor intensive, but I doubt that this version for one could possibly stand against it.

Why the hell are you making dinner for one You’re successful man at least make them for two and if you don’t have to, you need to get somebody there’s plenty of women out there. then you got skills, women like men that can cook, and you also have a sense of humor stop making chicken farm for one Joan get some pick one, if that doesn’t work pick another one you’ll get there

Both the for one and the low threshold part of this awesome. This can easily be prepared in the time it takes the oven to heat up.
In fact, can be prepared in the time the oven takes to heat up is a great concept in and of itself, as oven food makes itself unattended. And on some days that's the difference between getting a proper dinner and nah, I'll just make a sandwich.

I love this! Thank you. I've been watching you for years and I love your recipes but it can be a lot for one person. Please more recipes for one. Please show us chili, cookies muffins, pastas, etc. It's so hard to find good recipes that are well measured for one. If you can show how to store for meal prep for a second serving that would be amazing.

I have the perfect one serving Dutch oven-cast iron pot for this. I will try this with some leftover roast chicken, sprinkle it with croutons coarsely chopped in my USB mini-food processor, then start adding the sauce and cheeses with one layer, not two. If it turns out, I'll have yet another dish I can use leftover chicken in. Thanks.

Follow up to my last post. I made this expecting to feed my trashcan like I always do and lo and behold. It turned out fantastic. I actually took notes during this video and I did it! Thank you. Please give us some more recipes for one. Your style of teaching is first rate. I love how un-demanding you are.

Chef John, I just had a total knee replacement on my other knee so I don't have croutons but I do have Indian Naan that I can heat up and make a little extra well done to simulte the crunchiness of the croutons; it won't be perfect because the Naan is much thinner but it should be okay. TY!

I've been savoring your videos for years and would love to see more for individual cuisine. When you are a single senior citizen, most recipes are made for a family. Yes, you can freeze portions, but I learned recently that freezers can fail. I lost a lot of portioned family meals.

I’m making this immediately. I would love to see some more recipes for one. That’s a major reason that I don’t bother with anything other than simple’ most nights, but this is perfect. Doing small casserole dish bake-able dinners of all types is a great idea.

Seems like far too much salt especially if you are using well-salted jarred sauce! The American public has become accustomed to a very unhealthy amount of salt in their diet. No wonder hypertension is an enormous problem in this country!

Yay! More cooking for one recipes! I cook for my elderly father but he gets bored eating the same thing after two meals. I can half and even quarter recipes, but often they don't turn out as well as the full scale versions.

This is exactly how I've been making myself chicken parm for the last 10 years of my life. I've been around since that original video, and the first thing I looked for when this video started were those croutons on top!

How hard would it be to adapt this recipe for an air fryer
I'm thinking an air fryer would overcook/burn the top layer of cheese long before the chicken is cooked through. But I'm not sure how to adjust for that.

I fully support for one or even for two recipes! I regularly make large recipes and have tons of leftovers, but sometimes it is really nice to have just one or two servings to get through instead of six, eight, fifteen.
