I made the bagels and my husband ate them all in two days and had to make more. I am now making two batches and space each batch about a half hour apart to make more. Making one huge batch is overwhelming but by making two small recipes back to back it gives you time to rise the dough and start on the next batch. It also gives you time to shape and get the 1st batch in the oven and then go onto the next. It totally works and if you are loving bagels freeze them and enjoy one everyday like husband does. All the ingredients are out anyway so why not just make more to enjoy later. They freeze really well. Love your videos

Emma, I think you are surprised, as I am, at how many respondents like raisin bagels, I had never heard of them. Interesting tho to create a sweet treat out of an old standard of bagel & cream cheese. Loved your video as usual, and love the shortcut to nice round centered holes, and not the usual misshapen that never return to true circles. Could you show us some wonderful homemade cracker and bread stick recipes? Keep these wonderful recipes coming, I never miss a single one.

Omg! These bagels are phenomenal! You are an amazing teacher. They are so light and airy. Not dense like most bagels you buy. I did plain, everything, sesame seed and sea salt bagels. I also left the holes as is and made bagel bites. Super excited and can not wait to try another one of your amazing breads. --Now I understand why you said to freeze them once they are cool. I can eat them for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

So excited to make these! I want to confirm the amount of yeast before I start though since the directions only state a packet. I have quick rise yeast that is 0. 25 oz or 2. 25 tsp or 7g. Is this the correct amount? Will the quick rise change any of the outcome or steps? Thanks so much!

These are great! I thought you had to boil the shaped dough in lye water before placing in the oven to make bagels. I didn't know there was a homemade version without the lye, so I never tried making bagels before. I'll have to this recipe. My favorite is poppyseed bagels!
