Yo I was gonna say nice work on getting the cultural ambassador from the local government there onto your show, that's pretty neat and legit. In actuality I paused before pressing Comment and googled her name and found out she isn't the cultural ambassador, Irvin Mayfield is. I get that it might seem cool to throw that tag under her name but come on, that's not that different from putting 'Mayor' under her name - it's misleading, especially to people out of area. I also found that she entertains the myths of ghosts and a myriad of other lunacy, so please can you refrain from whacking legitimate labels on random people in the future? Also no politics videos please, you guys aren't buzzfeed or some other bottom-tier clickbait.

I travelled and tried many oysters, when i was back in my country, my friend whom owns a bar imported new zealand bluff oysters, the day i had that bad baby with drops of tabasco, i will never forget the experience! It retained the water inside it where it originated from too, for me i would say, that's the best in the world, second is any coastal japanese town oysters for any seafood lovers, try them when you drink

People are always proud of their local seafood, and yes, Louisiana oysters are good. Having said that, for purity, quality and flavor, the best in the world are grown in the cold, clean waters of Washington State. I will always eat the Louisiana and Appalachicola oysters, the low country oysters from GA and SC, and oysters from the Cheasepeake. but I know where the very best are grown.

Im a bit worried as Ive started eating oysters and I absolutely love them. But Ive heard a lot of bad about eating them raw and getting vibriosis. What are the chances and what are the signs to look out for, are there any signs you have a bad oyster? I want to keep eating them so any help would be great

Typically, the colder the water the more flavourful the shellfish. So while the oysters in the southern US are tasty they don't match up to those found in cold ocean water. Try a Malpeque or a Raspberry Point oyster from Prince Edward Island, Canada, and you will see what I mean.

Those three guys who were lucky enough to have inherited a business are incredibly smug and entitled about a success they had NOTHING to do with but are totally reaping the rewards of. It's like watching 3 Trumps sat next to each other, boasting. Eurgh.

wrong! in the south the water is always warmer and bacteria thrives. most people that die from eating oyster happens in the south. plus you have more runoff from farms. pure garbage, the northeast and north west have the best bar none. stop lying.

New Orleans has the worst oysters in the USA. They have absolutely zero flavor. We have some here in NC that will beat a shitty new Orleans oyster any day of the week. I'm a chef and I've had all kinds of Orleans oysters and they suck period.

I'm sorry, but just where did you get your information? The best oysters come from waters that are COLD all the time. In North America that's the the Pacific Northwest and the North Atlantic Coast. Gulf oysters simply cannot compare with these.
