Owls are a pita to raise due to how much attention they need, but if you able to give lots of attention, they are super loving. We have a neighbor with the same licenses and plenty of exotic birds and raptors and the one is charge is a giant macaw (think its a macaw) named tiger who alerts everyone. Idk how she does it but the birds treat you very nicely once they get to know you.

I didn't realize owls can live so long! What a commitment to Michael! I'm glad there are folks out there doing things like this to preserve our wildlife for future generations. Sometimes I get depressed about how some of us humans don't care about the impact we make on our planet.

Is it just me or does
BIRD'S of PREY
Sound like it should apply to the actual Prey bird's
It's not obviously, it applies to the Predatory Bird.
But it just doesn't sound right to me.
Just curious

I love that she let's Micheal play with kids &toys. But I'm also glad she let's everyone know she still smart enough not leave alone with children. Because end of day. Wild is wild.
reply

Those people who question her whether she lets the kids interact with the family owl unsupervised are the ones that would let their child alone with the dog without even thinking twice.

i thought she knows what she is doing and anything about birds of pray Eagle owls reach a maximum age of 40 in the wild and up to 45 - 50 years in captivity. Dream on 70

I don't think Salma Hayek has any state or federal license to care for her rescue owl. I know I couldn't have a pet that has to eat another live animal in order to survive.

Michael is ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL! It's amazing and a true joy to see Michael as more than a pet. They are SO much more than that! Love your video!

Set it free where it belongs, I think humans have a sense of I can keep a wild animal it’s cool no. It deserves to fly free. 100 percent.

This Owl lives 20 years in the wild and up to 60 years in captivity so your grandchildren will experience the owl just as your little ones do now!

I think of owls as flying cats. I always wonder what it's like to live with these kinds of animals in their homes. Feels like a Disney movie

Michael is a wild animal.
Michael: o_o
Seriously, birds look both extremely annoyed and very undignified when molting.

reply

Omgggg you offended Michael so hard, telling him he doesn’t knit After all the hours he put in His FACEEE, you can see the shock!
reply

I assume they named the owl Michael before they found out she was a female and then decided to just stick with the name
reply

Everything but the name was cute. The name. whoever named it I'm sorry you need to take a class on how to name pets
reply

Michel is gonna be one of those pet family members where your grand kids and great grand kids are gonna know him.

Our world would be a bleak and depressing place without our wonderful wildlife, fight to keep them alive.

When you make a bird wings so that they can fly
What would they do.

This is considered exotic pet. If you can't afford vet bills, don't get it.

Owls remind me of house cats so much. They share VERY similar behaviors.
