Its not that link decided to stag an adult, its the timeline Link leaves behind when he is sent back to being a child and stops Ganondorf's plot in the past, creating the child timeline branch. The tkmeline in which Ganondorf won and became Ganon after fighting link as an adult still exists, but the link from that timeline has moved to a different timeline. The adult timeline is then without a hero, so that when ganon escapes his seal, rather than a hero defeating him, the gods themselves flood Hyruleto protect the people.

--- Um actually tingle appears in the minish cap so it wouldn't make sense for him to start based on real world appearance instead of chronological appearance. So the tingle games should be closer to the minish cap --- And also in Mario kart 8, you can play as link from breath of the wild so Mario kart 8 would have to be after or during breath of the wild--- I can't believe you would miss such childishly obvious features in this sophisticated video. I guess we truly know who is and who isn't a true zelda fan now -------------

fun fact: in 2001, shortly after the oracle games came out, nintendo put out a zelda timeline that was relatively simple: ocarina of time first, then majoras mask, a link to the past, the oracle games, and ending with zelda 1 and 2. but wheres link's awakening? well, at one point, links awakening canonically took place -during a 2 second loading screen where link crosses the sea to the east side of the map in zelda 2. thats it. that was link's awakening. -

The part that makes holding the tack in your mouth dangerous is knowing its bad but believing that you have the ability to avoid that fate because you are aware its dangerous. That, and because when you accidentally swallow it you will have a small unsterilized needle poking around your tummy.

Holy crap, I totally remember that barcode game. As a kid I remember thinking that it was an amazing concept. I remember thinking the same thing about Monster Rancher. You could get different monsters in the game depending on which CDs you put into your playstation while playing.

imho hyrule warriors is actually the only way to explain all timelines converging, i mean that game LITERALLY pulls in elements from all the timelines into one instance of hyrule, there HAS to have been some residual stuff from each left behind and thats where botw/totk takes place

yo this was great! can we get an update for Tears of the Kingdom? I know it's a sequel to BotW, but there's portions that take thousands of years earlier, and I really need Brian David Gilbert to explain me where it goes, could you guys flag him down?

I know I'm over four years late, but Link's appearance in Mario Kart 8 is modelled after Skyward Sword, not Ocarina of Time. And then they also added a Breath of the Wild variant. So basically Mario Kart 8 obviously belongs in the time break.

Brian has played another Zelda game since this video, so that implies that Miyamoto did e-mail him and say -You cracked the code! - and I like that more than he was just being funny saying -I-m never gonna play another Zelda game ever again. -

Is the reason Adult & Child Link are separate timelines because in Adult timeline he wasn't around to stop the moon smashing into the planet and that was the disaster that caused the entire world to flood? Because. damn. That was a bad call.

Well, ackshually, adult timeline is the -Era without a hero- because link was sent back by Zelda to live out his childhood. He didn't have a choice. There is no Ocarina Link on the right side of this map until the next reincarnation.

I actually do think hyrule warriors is what fixs the timeline. People from all 3 timelines are pulled into 1 singular timeline. The only question is which timeline was the base timeline that had the other 2 pulled into it.

In 20 years time they'll reveal that the LoZ timeline is actually the shape of the mastersword with the split timelines being the gaurd AND representing the Triforce at the heart of the series.

Common Misconception: Link doesn-t -decide to stay an adult- in the adult timeline. He abandons the timeline to go back to his childhood, leaving that reality without a hero and causing the world to flood.

i love people trying to figure out the zelda timeline. it's like watching someone figure out the timeline of a character in mythology. Babe, it's the same story being told in ten million different ways.

Well actually, Link defeats the thing twice in Hyrule Warriors. Vanilla HW at least.
Explains why Wild is so genderfluid. His direct predecessor is Warriors, a Link that fully transitioned.

This is literally the first video I thought of when I saw that the next -mainline- Zelda game after BOTW would be a direct sequel. No muss, no fuss, no confusing timeline shenanigans.

Im confused where does Link's appearance in Super Mario RPG fit in here? He missed something 0/10 He clearly has no idea what he is talking about.

I can solve it in 10 seconds: it's a single legend told by different storytellers. That's my headcanon and I'm sticking with it.
