I think my favorite part of this series is how there's no continuity between scenes regarding whom is on which side of the ogre. I feel like there's some deep lore that would explain the constant switcheroos that Pat and Simone haven't yet discovered for themselves.

Under normal circumstances, Simone just wiggling the stick around would totally work for Pat, but not in ogre form.
