Paper Mario: Color Splash - GAMEPLAY Impressions - E3 2016

Griffin McElroy played Paper Mario: Color Splash at E3 2016, and he's here to tell you all about it. Check out ALL of our E3 2016 videos! Nintendo is so damn dense. The sales of these games are clearly correlated with the sales of the platform they appeared on. Yes, Sticker Star sold more than TTYD, but only because more people bought 3DS than GC. TTYD was clearly a better game and obviously the fans as a whole agree. In fact, if you adjust for sales of the respective consoles, TTYD probably sold the best. Obviously this concept was just too much for Nintendo to handle. Fools.\r\n

Sad to see Paper Mario go down this route. I found Sticker Star to be very boring to play through, especially compared to some of the older Paper Mario games. But what I miss more than the classic RPG mechanics were the funny dialog and all the partner characters you picked up along the way - the latter of which the Mario and Luigi games never really satisfied for me.

The producer's explanation for it being an action-adventure game seemed so poor. Maybe they had to say so, for business purposes. But it doesn't make sense to change Paper Mario's genre like this! Yes, Mario & Luigi were RPGs too, but they provided different experiences. Mario already has an action/adventure genre: the main games!

Maybe this game will be good? But man did I enjoy Paper Mario as an RPG franchise more than the Mario & Luigi franchise (and I really really like the Mario & Luigi franchise. The news of this direction disappoints me but I can't say I didn't see it coming ever since Sticker Star.

We just need a paper Mario game that has the story of super paper Mario, the writing in TTYD, and the gameplay of TTYD and it would be one of the best paper Mario games ever. That's all I want. Is it really that hard to make that game

-if you liked sticker star- no one liked sticker star and was a failure that only made sales because it was a paper mario games and people assumed it would be decent/good like the others

At least the fighting system is somewhat RPG-esque. Besides that it does look like they actually wanted to create a unique game. Disappointed. But still kind of on board?

This is the first Paper Mario game I won't buy. Nintendo has shamelessly turned one of the greatest RPG series of all time into a quick cash grab. So disappointing.

Thanks for the video. now I know that this game is 100% not like the other Paper Mario games and isn't worth buying.
