we’re counting down our picks for the most iconic cartoons we loved watching on Saturday mornings. Our countdown includes shows ThunderCats, X-Men: The Animated Series, Alvin and the Chipmunks and more! What are your favorite memories of Saturday morning cartoons Share them with us down in the comments! I watched Saturday Morning cartoons my entire childhood. Started with The Smurfs at 7am then would watch The Gummi Bears, TMNT, Garfield and Friends, Alvin and The Chipmunks, and The Bugs Bunny and Tweety show depending what year it was. Then at 11am turned it to PBS to watch the latest episode of MotorWeek. By noon I was back playing in my toyroom, outside riding my bicycle, or on my swing set. I miss those days.

Not a list for those of us whose prime watching years were in the 70’s and early 80’s. Half of these were also weekday afternoon shows in my area, not Saturday mornings. Laff Olympics, Captain Caveman and Friends, Blackstarr, Thundarr the Barbarian, Richie Rich, Super Friends, Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids, The New Shmoo, The Super Globetrotters, and Bugs Bunny / Road Runner Hour were my go-to’s. And you knew it was over when Jason of Star Command, This Week In Baseball, and The Voyagers came on.

This is a very biased 1990's list (even though Scooby Doo snuck in from the 1970's. Left out:
1) The Bugs Bunny and Roadrunner show
2) The Banana Splits (had animated-The 3 Musketeers and Arabian Knights)
3) Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids
4) Johnny Quest
And
I know this is an animated list, but Sid & Marty Kroft had a HUGE impact on Saturday mornings with shows like, The Bugaloos, Lidsville, Sigmund & The Sea Monsters, Far Out Space Nuts and much more.

My favorite Saturday morning memory was watching the spectacular Spiderman every Saturday morning on the CW at 9am I never missed an episode and when it got canceled after season 2 8 year old me was really sad because it was my favorite show. Though 9 years later, I found the whole show on dvd at Walmart and asked to get it and was glad my parents let me get it.

. wistful sigh. most of these were after our time, being mostly of the 70s range of cartoons, but, it was still a time where---pre phones and ipads-- we all gathered together on Saturday mornings with our kids for just a little bit of respite.

These animated shows did more than just defined Saturday Mornings! They've defined our childhood and made it bearable, We have so many memories of these shows that if it weren't for them that we wouldn't be who we all are today!

Jem and the Holograms. I'm surprised not many people talk about this show. It sucks that kids today will never experience the joy of waking up early to watch their favorite show on Saturday mornings now that we have streaming.

There was also Star Trek: The Animated Series, The Super Seven, The Centurions, M. A. S. K, Starblazers, Bionic Six, Thunderbirds 2086, and so many more. But I was surprised Super Friends didn't get a slot on this list.

As a child growing up in the 80s the best part was waking up early Saturday morning watching The Smurfs, Scooby doo mysteries, Transformers, Alvin and the Chipmunks were the best days of a 80s childs life. unlike Today

As popular TMNT 87 and the Real Ghostbusters was back during their runs surprised they wasn't in Top 10. Cool the Turtles got honorable mentions but from about 88-92 Turtles-Mania was running wild.

Only scooby do made in 1969 and 1970. You bring in scrappy do and it turned shit! Now they are making the Loony Tunes woke so they won't ever be the same as when I watched them back in the day!
