Im not gonna lie! Jin Lee was probably the best character in Turning Red! He may be shy and soft-spoken, but hes still really sweet and supportive towards Mei! Unlike his wife! Ugh! But moving away from that, the reason he has that scene comforting Mei may be contrived as all hell, but its still a nice scene! I just wish he had more to say and do! Tho, to be fair, I relate him a lot since sometimes, I can be timid and too shy to speak up, as well!
People Have All Kinds Of Sides To Them, Mei, And Some Sides Are Messy. The Point Isn't To Push The Bad Stuff Away, It's To Make Room For It, Live With It.

I agree! Marlin is definitely number 1! His journey and character arc throughout the movie is really compelling! Considering he lost his wife and 399 kids to a barracuda, of course hes overprotective and paranoid! But he learns to move past that by realising its okay to have fun, its okay to trust others, and eventually, he has to let Nemo grew up, otherwise he wont learn from his mistakes or know how to survive by himself, which he does. Hes also incredibly funny and has some of that best lines in the entire movie!
We did it! We did it! Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah! Not eating here tonight!

I like all the Pixar Dads or Dad in Pixar movies on Disney Plus or on the DVDs like Wilden Lightfoot Onward and Django Ratatouille and Jin Lee Turning Red and Sulley Monsters Inc and King Fergus Brave and Carl Fredericksen Up and Hector Rivera Coco and Massimo Marcovaldo Luca and Bob Parr The Incredibles Franchise and Bill Andersen Inside Out and Henry The Good Dinosaur and Dory's Dad Finding Dory and Bonnie's Dad Toy Story 4 and Joe's Dad Soul and Marlin Finding Nemo
reply

I loved King Fergus's characterization in Once Upon a Time, how he not only allowed his daughter to go to war, but hired her a FEMALE tutor (Mulan. And gosh, that episode where (SPOILER ALERT) Merida brought her father back to life for a few moments and he said how proud of her he was, I just cried (didn't help that was also the year I lost my grandpa. Season 5 may not have been the best of the show, but damn, did they do the characters of Brave justice.

I know that WALL-E from WALL. E is not a dad, but judging by his personality he would be so great at parenting. If WALL. E ever gets a sequel, it should be about WALL-E and EVE having a kid of their own and trying their best to take care of them. Anyway thats just my opinion. Whats yours?

Despite being initially strict and impatient towards Remy, Django is still a great Pixar dad, considering he finally saw his sons passion for cooking, accepted his friendship with Linguini, and helped stop Skinner snd the Health Inspector! Now that is a great dad!
reply

I see some parallels to the mothers of both Brave and Turning Red. Theyre both strict and show disciplinary skills toward their respective daughters. However, the respective dads are very open to their daughters following their own paths that they see fit.

Top 3 (In my opinion):
1. Marlin
2. Bob Parr
3. Hector Rivera
Marlin and Bob are the most common and iconic dads in Pixar that you would see working very hard for their children, for Hector we just see how much of a dad from his past!

reply

Marlin honestly at first can come off as very bossy and too strict but when you realize what he went through, you can totally understand why he can be so hard on Nemo. It's the only child he has left so he wants to protect it at all costs
reply

Hector is a good father. He deeply cares for his family and was more than happy to care for a Child that stumbled into the Land of the Dead, even if they dont know they are related, and loves playing magic and having fun with everyone.
reply

Massimo is such a sweet dad I really loved how even when it was revealed to him that Luca and Alberto are sea monsters he still cared about them. Alberto calling him Dad REALLY warmed my heart and I hope Massimo adopts him at some point
reply

You forgot to mention Doc Hudson, while not Lightning's biological dad he does take on the dad role in Cars 3 when Lightning has flashbacks of Doc and how Doc wrote letters to Smokey about how proud he was about Lightning.
reply

Even tho Id say Carls more of a grandfather, the way he learns to care for Russell, Kevin, and Dug is really beautiful and shows how much hes learned to move away from his past. Just like Ellie wanted!
reply

Blood doesn't make a dad. I never knew my bio-dad but my step-dad adopted me when I was a year old and he married my mum. We're best buds and I wouldn't change it for anything
reply

My dad always was there to support me and teach me not to be afraid of what is in the world unfortunately my dad died 7 years ago and this day makes me miss him so much.

Queen Elinor wants her daughter as the perfect princess and Stoick the Vast wants his son as a dragon killer

Turning Reds dad Jin is not as outspoken as his wife Ming, yet he knows what is right. Thats a dad that actually knows whats what.
reply

What happens when Massimo tells Alberto and Luca to take a bath or shower? Before he knows what they are? These dads are great.
reply

Best one to me is doc Hudson Cause he taught Lightning kindness and just because u get a trophy doesn't mean you're the best!
