I was going through a mental breakdown earlier this year (the darkest place i've ever been and i came really close to doing something irreversable. i want to say it was strength that stopped me but it wasn't, i was just too scared. on the plus side mental health services are finally helping me so thats a plus they're gunna help me get into college) The meltdown coincided with my first time watcing this show, the OD scene on the plane really struck a nerve with me at the time and i love that it ended on a hopeful note. One thing i loved about the show it wasn't just 'oh wow, i'm all better' after a couple of episodes her recovery lasted until the end of the show. We saw her slip up a few times we see her skip therapy occasionally, and she wasn't demonised for that and i love how realistic they portrayed the recovery. (You know for a comedy musical)

Valencia & Father Brah realizing they were meant to be together & that it was too late absolutely broke me. I understand V is completely happy now but it's that pain of what if & those years of wondering why & seeing that she could have been happy from the start & wasting her love & effort on Josh. I absolutely love Joah it's just you know what I mean.
Btw im binge watching the series for the 6th time. I rewatch the shit out of this show 1 or 2 times a year because its so motivational. It makes me happy to see someone as socially awkward improve themselves & find happiness along their journey.

I personally think a heartbreaking moment is when she imagines her life married to either Greg, Nathaniel or Josh and she's not happy with either of them.
I also agree Rebecca's overdose on the plane and asking for help.
I do think the saddest for me in the clips were Dr Akopian telling her she deserves love, and her blaming herself at her wedding.
Maybe I'm in a minority but I didn't find Greg leaving that sad as such, as it did seem Rebecca had been messing him around, even if not intentionally. I thought his drinking addiction was more sad.

It's kind of sad that I used to think this show was about a girl that wanted to ruin a man's life when an actuality he was the only person that she actually loves and she is a complex character she went from someone that I absolutely f hated to a character that I literally root for every time I see her no offense she's not that bad of a person she's fictional but I would rather have her as a crazy ex-girlfriend than my other ex-girlfriend who literally tried to f poison me with drain cleaner in my coffee

the moment where josh leaves rebecca is definitely one of the saddest, but tbh, i'm kinda glad he did. rebecca stalked him, manipulated him, lied to him and was only dragging herself down in the process. it's a heartbreaking moment, but it had to happen.
(also: even tho i love rebecca, i feel like the show made a mistake by having her in a love triangle with josh again in the later season. rebecca deserves love and happiness, but josh shouldn't have forgiven her or at least trusted her again)

I would argue that the last few minutes of season 2 episode 12 are amongst the saddest, because knowing what happens on a rewatch and seeing the setup before the fall is pretty heartbreaking
Spoilers- the scenes include Valencia agreeing to help set up the wedding, Paula arranging to get the wedding dress, and Nathaniel arranging to get Rebecca's dad. This put Rebecca in a state of happiness right before the wedding falling through

One scene not mentioned that made me tear up was when Rebecca and Greg were at the auto-shop (in lieu of the contrived hot air balloon date, just talking about what they wanted to order and smiling and laughing. Then it gets silent while she looks at the menu and Greg is just looking at her in such awe and:
. You're the love of my life. You know that, right?
. I do now.

I know it was an honorable mention, but the end of Nathaniels fantasy with the please, let me be happy and the following scene where he cries in the arms of the pizza guy was far and away the most emotional scene for me. Especially in the context of the episode, as you realize Maya is really Rebecca in his dream, and Rebecca appears and asks him to let her go.

All of these moments are really sad, but I'm kinda disappointed that they didn't put any of the sad moments between Greg and Rebecca, for example in the duck pond, or when she found out that he was an alcoholic, or the scene at the airport. Greg was such an important character in the show and you guys didn't even mention him: (

I cry every time when Rebecca is the bathroom and everyone starts panicking. Especially when Valencia breaks down, telling Rebecca she cant lose her. It reminds me of my family when. I had the same experience as Rebecca. My friends couldnt leave me alone for one second and that just hit me so hard

I was diagnosed with BPD a couple of months before S3 aired and this show honestly helped me cope and come to terms with my diagnosis. I now use it to help people understand my diagnosis. Rewatching the show recently it really hit home and it's incredibly difficult to watch sometimes

I wanted to like this show so much, but after two seasons it's clear we are laughing at not just insecurity, but people with mental illness. It is then painful to laugh at the decisions she made based on her condition, so I stopped watching the show.

When Rebecca is feeling rejected by Josh and she gets heckled to tears by the girls at camp, I wanted to cry for her. Something about that performance just felt so vulnerable when she asked them through her tears why they were so mean to her.

The suicide attempt was so hard for me to watch. I related so much to her feelings and i had to take a break because i knew exactly how her depression felt, how she just wanted the pain to stop and she did something like that out of desperation.

The moment that will always break my heart to just even think about is when Rebecca says, Maybe this is the version of Rebecca Bunch he is going to stick around for talking about her dad and every time it hurts me so much.

I miss this show so much already. I was initially drawn to it because i'm a big musical theatre nerd, but the more I watched, the more I loved how it shone such an important light on mental health.

Number 10 is really sad because you can tell shes trying to push them away because shes scared. This is really typical of people with bpd; so scared of being abandoned they push those who love them away.

The scene where she lashes out at all her friends was so brilliantly executed and I have never seen anything so masterfully done on television before.

As a person myself with anxiety and depression, this show touched me very deep. I laughed a lot but also cried and i saw myself reflected on Rebeca's life.
