There are some HUGE differences between the original Aladdin and the live-action remake! The 2019 live-action version of Aladdin may be a remake, but it definitely make some changes from the original animated 1992 Aladdin. This new version of the classic Disney movie, starring Will Smith as the Genie, took a few liberties with its source material. We're here to break down the Top 10 Differences Between Aladdin (2019) and Aladdin (1992!

The last part is something that actually makes more sense in real life world, no matter how much the Sultan and his daughter would love Aladdin, they would never make him the Sultan in any real life country, and there were actually real life female pharaohs when male heirs weren't available solely because the roya blood is what matters in the end, it only makes natural sense that Instead of actually becoming the Sultan he would actually become the husband of the female Sultan with symbolical authority, he would be loved by the people but wouldn't be viewed as an ruler, so surprisingly that's actually one big change I am more pleased with because it makes the story more realistic unlike the animated or folktale version, which was most likely written for the purpose of giving people some hope, that even a nobody can become a ruler, but it never really happened in any of the actual historic accounts from any such situations, which made the animated version of the story entertaining but more fit for 1990's commercialisation in the form of sequels and games, while the live action version surprisingly shows off more of it's own identity.

My opinions of the changes:
10. 2 Love stories and Dalia is great. Perfect & Brilliant.
9. Well, good.
8. Creative and wonderful. Dalia's the best, Hakim also interesting.
7. We all Love action.
6. May be sound well. He's more handsome in Live action movie.
5. Music is Wonderful, more Like story-telling (Harvest Dances for example) and Epic.
4. Absolutely the Best Change. Feminist movement. SPEECHLESS!
3. Obviously. (Devil's in the details, how Jafar was defeated)
2. Naomi and Mena are probably most famous for Aladdin. Will is great
1. Another feminist movement. Girl power and Ladies rule!

I knew Jasmine having her solo song would be on the list. When I was watching the film in theaters and she was singing the song, I was completely blown away and I loved it so much that when I got home I purchased the soundtrack RIGHT AWAY! I also loved how A Whole New World was modernized. I very nearly stood up out of my seat when we got to that scene and EVERYONE was cheering and applauding after the song, and thats, so far, the only time Ive been part of an audience that cheered at a movie. And I saw this movie TWICE and they did it BOTH TIMES!

Hold on, theres one more I thought of that you could have used.
Why Jafar wants to marry Jasmine: Yes, like the 1992 film, Jafar wants to marry Jasmine to become the ruler of Agrabah but he also wants to for another reason. Like he said in the movie scene when he was chocking Jasmine's father, The perfect punishment for you is having you watch me as I take away the thing you love most, and marry your daughter. So, another reason Jafar trys to marry Jasmine is to get revenge on her father.

Something that the 2019 film did better than the original was making Jafar truly evil. The original had people theorizing that Jafar wasnt evil at all. But the new film revealed that Jafar murdered many people to be the royal vizier with the line How many bodies Ive buried. He even kills someone in screen. The original Jafar was just a creep, like Claude Frollo, but not evil, unlike Claude Frollo. 2019 Jafar is murderous and truly evil.

If you think about it Jasmine was the only princess who didn't have a song of her own. And I really liked that they added that on the new movie. And That's my fave scense from the live movie.
The live movie made some changes that turned out great. But I didn't like the villain he didn't look nothing like jaffar, I mean the audacity and especially his personality didn't convinced me at all!

Hey everyone! I had the honor of seeing Aladdin last week, and honestly I was super nervous, but it really is a BLAST! The trailers don't do it justice: the leads are SO charming, Will Smith is a great Genie, the music is KILLER and it's just a great update all in all. Just so you know, there are spoilers in this video, so know that going in - Enjoy: )

Will Smith was the only character I liked on the 2019 Aladdin. But Aladdin 1992 is still on top 10/10. 2019 6/10. On 2019 Jasmine was out of character including New-Aladdin. That would be because they don't have enough experience. Jafar character wanted to be liked, which shouldn't be. Not much action like the original.

Not sure why the tone of this seems to be why the remake is better, more diverse, more woke etc. You should've stuck to the way the films are different. The fact is, despite your efforts to talk up the remake, the original is a much better film; the difference in the imdb ratings says it all.

I was not that impressed with this remake. I don't think whoever played Jafar did as good as Martin Freeman did in the original. I was also disappointed that the part when Jafar transforms himself into a giant cobra was left out. However, Will Smith did a good job playing the genie.

I Justo LOVE the movie its was AMAZING I fall in love with the actor who play Aladdin Mena Massoud was perfect for that Role! Jasmine too and Will do a great job as the Genie! I think Robin William would be proud of him Im so excited because is gonna be a second part!
reply

Also in the live action remake the wish to free the genie also turns him into a normal human thus removing his magical powers. The animated genie still kept his powers to an extent after he was freed.

Speaking of updated songs, anyone notice that in Prince Ali they changed the words from brush off your Sunday Salam to brush off your Friday Salam to actually reflect the appropriate day of importance?
reply

You were right about Speechless, Have any of you seen The Mute Princess gacha life videos, I saw this movie before seeing the videos, and I still fell in love with the song every time!
reply

I kinda like the old Aladdin more the the new one. Robin Williams was 100, 000, 000, 00 more times funnier. I kinda liked Jasmine just singing A Whole New World.
reply

What about Robin Williams was replaced by Will Smith in the 2019 in the version? Or Jafars transformation so instead of transforming himself into a giant snake.
reply

My favorite movie that I cannot stop talking about is Aladdin but something I really hate about the movie is that Lago is not as funny and silly anymore: (
reply

The guy that played Aladdin was terrible. He actually thought he did a good job, asking why he didn't get jobs afterwards. This was a pretty bad remake.
reply

I wish they didn't ripp off Jasmines seductive & flirting side, as it was part of her personality & made her stand out of other princesses
reply

I Love Isabella So much Because She is So Cute and Awesome and Cool and Funny and Fun Beautiful Pretty Best Girl Ever in North America
reply

Honestly I like this version more than I like the 1990s version thats saying something because I really like the 90s version
reply

Of course, Jasmine becomes the Sultan. It wouldn't be a Disney remake without a woman proving she can do everything a man can do
reply

but the thing that they didn't understand is that a female ruler is referred as Sultana and not Sultan in Arabic language
reply

2: 07 what do you mean you don't have a mom on it and Elsa they just traveled away and I you still basically have a mom
reply

One more difference in the 2019 live action Aladdin, Jafar is the weakest part, as the actor playing him is a bore
reply

Jafar is WAY Hotter In The 2019 Movie, And I'm Loving It. He Is Blunt And Straightforward, Like a Real Villian
