As I skimmed through this again, there's a tie for the most shocking elimination. Along with Pia Toscano, Chris Daughtry was TOTALLY shocking! And, of the top 3 finishers on Idol that season, he's probably been the most successful. I didn't start watching the show until the 2005 season and it was only because my cousin auditioned. She didn't even make it far enough to be on TV. I eventually became a fan of Carrie Underwood and started voting for her. Anyway from that point on, there have been only a few people to win that completely ticked me off. Probably the worst one was Taylor Hicks. He won, but, as, far as I know, both Chris Daughtry and Katharine McPhee have been more successful. What has Taylor done? I couldn't stand him and still can't understand what the voters were thinking. Another one I'll briefly mention is Kris Allen over Adam Lambert. That was a scam if you ask me.

Honestly I don't think contestants being forced to leave after breaking the rules should count as shocking eliminations. There are WAY worse ones, for Project Runway and Drag Race specifically. I think Shangela not making it to the Top 2 in AS3 is regarded as probably the biggest robbery of the show, although there are tons (coughMANILAcough.
Also, with the Heather Morris thing. she's certainly not the first dancer to be on the show. There's been lots, so honestly I'm not sure why her being on the show was ever so controversial.

Whats the point of competing if youre just going to give up? Apparently BenDeLaCreme didnt get the memo.
Seriously, MsMojo, yall need to start WATCHING these damn shows before you write these scripts! DeLa specifically said she was leaving because she had already proven herself worthy of the crown (with her FIVE challenge wins, she felt like a winner without it, and she realized she didnt need Ru (or anyone) to validate her performance. Thats not giving up thats a mothertuckin All Star!

To this day, I'm still pissed about Heather Morris getting eliminated. She was overall THIRD in points behind Simone Biles who was 2nd, and Normani who was 1st at that time. I voted the hell out of Heather hoping she would win, but got eliminated over Nick Viall, Bonner Bolton, and David Ross who all average much less than Heather. I was really hoping for a judges' save, because they too were shocked, but they don't do saves, so I was bummed.

The British version of Dancing with the Stars (Strictly Come Dancing) has had a few past contestants who sounded too experienced for it to be fair on the others. Including several former boyband members and. Ok I am not sure if she was an established dancer before her more famous magician husband rose to fame but when he (mostly) retired she founded a successful Ballet company.

Anyone else remember Sabrina Bryan on dancing with the stars season 5? She was a fan favorite so everyone voted for their other favorites and she ended up being voted off. Dude 13 year old me was so shook! I remember how they kept announcing after her elimination to vote for your favorite, even if you think everyone will vote for them, because you never know.

Michaela's blindside was less shocking for the viewers and more shocking for Michaela herself. A great blindside, don't get me wrong, but there have been so many other amazing moments like Ozzy in Fans Vs Favourites or Tyson in Tocantins that really take blindsides to another level.

P. S. MsMojo, per your #1, you might want to do some editing/checking cuz if you were trying to argue that Chris is one of the most successful Idol alum ever, the words, You'd be hard-pressed to argue Chris is one of the most successful contestants ever. says the opposite. lol

Chris Daughtry? #1? Nope. His elimination was kinda funny because you could see in his face how, almost smug, he was like, Oh there's no way I'M getting eliminated! and then his name is called and, Oops. It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia theme plays.
reply

Im surprised you didnt include the fight that almost happened on Hells Kitchen. The one where Gordon Ramsay asked the blue team who is nominated and Joseph almost punched Ramsay. Hell it took like 2 episodes just to see who was eliminated
reply

I really still don't understand why not letting rejection get to you was disrespectful. Tyra has crazy eye though so I'm not totally shocked. third time I've seen it on a WatchMojo video tonight though lol.
reply

Honestly, MsMojo, this has been a video I've been looking for, a compilation of the most saddening/shocking eliminations in reality shows everywhere, and you FINALLY made one! Thank you so much!

I remember watching that season of American idol and thinking Chris Daughtry should win he was my favorite on the season he is sooooooo incredibly talented I was utterly shocked when he kicked off
reply

I'm surprised with the two from Survivor, that there was no mention of when Jeff Varner outed a fellow contestant for strategy and got elimated with no need for a vote.
reply

Should've put Cirie's exit from Game Changers. went out by default because everyone else had some form of protection, and no votes cast against her all season
reply

Erik from Survivor should have been in the Top 5 of this list. It is literally the best blindside ever on survivor and one of the best moments in reality tv EVER
reply

Manila on drag race all stars 4 should've been on this list. Everybody was upset over that one. Even the judges and other drag queens were shocked by the decision.
reply

I think Kellee Kim's elimination from survivor S39 was extremely dramatic, and personally one of the most painful minutes of survivor i've ever had to sit through.
reply

I voted that year with Chris and Catherine. It was rigged. If you called for Chris it said you voted for Catherine and vice versa. Chris was supposed to win
reply

. Valentina from RPDR - season 9 - yes, she F'd up her lip sync battle, but she was the BEST drag queen out of that season and many of them!
reply

Why you never considered the CHALLENGE from mtv, that reality show is been in the air for over 20 years and has a lot of shocking eliminations
reply

For me it would be Why TF did you bring me back? from flavor of love, season 2, when new york got eliminated not once but TWICE. iconic moment
reply

Honestly, I was more shocked by Sabrina Bryan's Dancing with the Stars elimination. And don't forget Juan Pablo's elimination last season.
reply

No, Dela DID get the memo. She just wiped her tuck with it and wrote her own rules. Girl wanted exposure and got it on her own terms.
reply

When I read this title my 1st thought was Chris Daughtry on Idol. I remember as I voted so hard for him. and yes I have all of his cds
reply

I did not know Daughtry was on American idol. He is good. I first heard of him when he covered my favorite Evanescence song.
reply

When bendela eliminated herself, i just hated thorgy reaction to it! Saying dela was acting all high and mighty. No, no mam.
reply

I really like the Nr 3. That's a good cut. I don't saw even one of the shows. But the drag queens show looks funny
