The book was quite though I read it there was really no starter no end and from one person's perspective it really had very little to offer so I'm a little lost why it's so great since we have other dystopian books that actually have a clear beginning middle and end and resolutions that may be good and maybe bad depending on your perspective. I have not watched the show but it does look like it gives it a little bit more of a dynamic twist instead of just a diary entry type set up in the book that it had that just basically repeated the same shit over and over again it left a bad taste in my mouth and I read at least two books a week so that's saying something

Is there really any redemption for Serena? The moment she made June watch her interact with her daughter which was essentially a veiled threat, was the moment any sympathy I had for her ended. Theres no happy ending for her. Also what about Junes daughter? She was so young when they took her, it might be possible to instill gillead beliefs in her and turn her against her mother.

Janine's eye wasn't removed for a failed suicide attempt. It was removed because she was acting up in the Red Center. Also, Emily didn't witness the death of her wife in season 1 as her wife and five-year-old son escaped to Canada. She witnessed the death of a Martha that she was having a secret affair with.

I watched Season 1. Season 2 began with the simulated mass hanging designed to terrorize the women into submission. Staging the mock hanging inside Fenway Park went too far for me. I'm from Boston and Fenway Park is sacred ground and I found it in bad taste and very disturbing.

Janines right eye was removed because of disobedience actually. Her punishment for her suicide attempt was supposed to be a stoning. And also, the woman Emily saw hanged wasnt her wife, it was a Martha she was having a secret relationship with.
