something else is how less sinister the villains are. if you've read the books, then you'll notice that the troupe and count olaf are protrayed as much less funny and redeemable than in the books. the show added a lot more witty and humorous jokes and aspects. like, the hook-handed man in the books hated sunny(actually, he was her least favorite, loved tormenting people, etc. one of his lines went something like, i was in the middle of an amazing dream where i sneezed without covering my mouth and gave everybody germs also, idk whether he was fiona's brother in the books either. hhowever, in the show, he loves sunny, is very funny, and redeemable. That's why in the books, mount fraught system is when the prisoner hates the captor very much, and in the show, mount fraught syndrom is when the captor grows fond of the prisoner. sorry that was long

The thing I do not get about ASOUE is that they go to the beach on episode 1 the moment the parents die in the fire so when they go to see the remains of the house wouldn't they of found the dead bodies of the parents because or tho that sounds gorry to be featured on a show like this. it's a realistic idea and would most likely happen in real life because it's not like u can have people take the bodies into a coffin that quick and ik it's just ash so wdym I mean and also wouldn't they have a funeral before doing gardians I guess not.

Worst thing I found about the series that NO ONE TALKING ABOUT THE HOUSE OF AUNT JOSEPHINE, in the movie everything she was afraid of happens in the series the house just falls down with a weird klaus flying back and forth, I really wish they could have let those stuff happening to the house in the series and I dislike the characters in the series I love the characters from the movie they seemed perfect I wish they hired the same actors for the series too

At the end of The Wide Window (book, when Mr. Poe listed the crimes for which Count Olaf would be placed under arrest, Count Olaf bragged. and arson! to add to Mr. Poes list.
Mr. Poe replied with I said THATS ENOUGH! in such a fierce manner it scared both Count Olaf and his brobdinagian sized hench. person. That was always a little odd, never featured in the movie or streaming series. Makes you wonder if Mr. Poe may be more involved than we think.

The biggest differences not even listed here was that the show didn't drag on unlike the books, snicket tells you the meaning of words in the books too but he gives you a million examples and it takes 4 pages of explaining what back at the ranch means before we finally get back to the story it really slowed down the books for me so I'm happy the show made his explanations shorter

The show may differ from the books, but it did adapt the story very well, and unlike the movie, it kept both the gothic feel quirky and the charm that books presented. The movie really focused on the dark aspects, and the quirkiness was lost. I'm glad the tv show captured both, and did it well. It also added to the story, and made it even more interesting to watch.

The sir and charles change made no sense, it was done to kiss up to a specific demographic, they shouldnt change things because they felt like it. This made the series feel like a separate universe, there are 3 alternate versions of this universe in my mind, the movie, books, and flix series. The book being the real version is never fully adapted

Them outright showing & explaining what the great unknown actually was (even directly calling it the great Unknown, & to do it so casually and blunt, was the one difference that certifiably ground my gears.
Taking the mystery from it, robbed it of its original meaning. The way Fiona described it was like a wiki article on top of that.

So the theroie about that jagcline is kit (i forgot how to write her name sry) im actully very suprised and there similirs to the hair coulor kit has blond hair in the books in the tv show she has brown hair but kit has a glasses in the book series and in the tv show she hasnt a glasses

I like the tone of the movie more the series feels like a somewhat comedic world like a dark dr Seuss wheras the film felt to me like a more realistic serious world.
However there is of course much more to the stories in the series.

I didn't like lemony snicket's presence i like when the movie just stopped with him writing or his machine stops but in the series he just repeats stuff that happens and the actors just repeat it which is a bit uhhh

Im so happy the tv series stayed true to the books. Yeah its not perfect but they did a great job pleasing fans who read the books and making it easy to get into for non-book readers.

I couldve swore with the 4th book, it was that Sir and Charles adopted the Baudelaires because even Poe was surprised at the end to find out they were made to work in the Mill
