One you missed thats directly related to the 2nd entry: Roseanne hits DJ.
Being victims of abuse was very important to Roseanne and Jackies backstory and represented a line that Roseanne in particular swore she would never cross. So when DJ angers her to the point where she does cross that line, she has a complete breakdown and could not apologize to enough people, including her son.
It was Roseannes finest acting performance of the entire series.

My favorite episode was when Roseanne and Jackie snuck into a competing diner and tried planting dead fish in the exhaust hood over the stove. Roseanne got stuck from the chest up.
Jackie: How did you get stuck!
Roseanne: By my boobs! They folded down on the way up, then they locked like those toggle bolts!
I was hoping to see that here

reply

Wait. Nothing topped Jackie's bombshell of sleeping with Arnie? Yeah, the guy was a loser, but are we forgetting how Bonnie confessed to robbing a liquor store?
I get the joke, but that was pretty powerful the way the actress who played Bonnie delivered it.
I wish we saw more of Bonnie. She was a great character.

I love Roseanne My family was a working class and I respect her so much! This is her show and the minute that she left that show her show should of left with her! How dare them to that to her! She should of continued to write but whatever she is doing now Im happy for her cause she made comedy real

I really like the prior Roseanne tv series and continue to watch the reruns. The show is very funny. Gotta say though, it seemed all Becky did was scream and sass her parents and siblings for like 4 seasons. Wish they could've given her character something else. Anything else.

My favorite scene was when Roseanne thought she was pregnant and wasnt getting a lot of support from her family. DJ asked if he was an accident. Roseanne explained that no, he was a surprise and explained the difference. Having had a surprise child myself, I could relate.

You talk too much through the scenes of each episode. All you need to do is introduce the scene and stop analyzing each one. The scene takes care of itself! Your comments are not appreciated! How old are you? Were you even alive when the show was on the air?

would have liked this video better if I had actually been able to watch the clips the lady's talks about. seriously, most of the videos are like that, try actually playing the clips your talking about, instead of the commentary. or with the commentary after.

See, even though there were Karens back then, it was a rare and enjoyable sighting. Kathy was the best Karen in those days as they were more tame and really just more mouth. Nothing like todays mega witches.

Ziggy was such a good guest character that was ooozing charisma. Also what about Dan finding out about David living in Chicago with Darlene, Becky getting married and the episode where DJ has to kiss Deena.
reply

AND EVERY single one of these scumbag actors and actresses, who Roseanne literally picked out of obscurity, made them famous, made them rich, ALL turned their backs on her when she really needed them
reply

When Emotionally Troubled Darlene writes and reads a beautiful poem letting out her troubled feelings When Dan defended Jackie against her abusive boyfriend Dan grabbed his jacket spoke volumes

This show would never, ever, ever make it to TV today. They would NEVER show a working class white family. The entire myth of America is based upon the fact that there are NO poor whites.

One of my favorite shows as a kid watching Roseanne, my house was very dark and dysfunctional and messed up. I always dreamed of having a family like this growing up.
reply

I often wonder if anyone else ever caught that the lady that came to look at the washer is the same actress that plays Darlenes friend that owned the bookstore?
reply

Jackie: how can I call people now? Im suppose to be in mourning
Roseanne: well then wear a veil over your face while you do it!

One of THE best US sitcoms of the 80s in my personal opinion! So meny i love! Too meny to mention but this was on my top 5 faves!

the episode where darlene reads her poem at school always gets me, cause i was one of those tom boys too, i so feel her hurt.
reply

This program was the closest to regular low income middle class life. Totally real and touching. Love you Roseanne and Dan.
reply

im confused. in the ending of the original series' run Dan actually dies of a heart attack. so hows he live in the reboot?
reply

I liked the scene where Bryan and Barry fight over Darlene but before the fight Darlene says 'oh we had a thing, its over '
reply

My favorite show I have watched this over and over and over so many times I love it and I know every episode and word
reply

It's hard to only have 10. I can think of many more that I thought was funny. I'm sure we'd all have our own top 10.
reply

The ending of the show didn't mark really end up with Darlene or did Roseanne dream that? Sorry getting old memory goes
reply

I loved this show in its early years. Roseanne was great as a person and actress. Now she's just vile.
reply

What about Dan's heart attack? The argument they both had after Dan refused to get healthy was pretty real.
